It keeps the EPG on the HDD so that populates in seconds and the slow remote was solved in the .22 BETA update so is carried thru to the .23. Lots quicker response to the remote.

Seems to be a good improvement for my 9200T.

The problem as I understand it, was that the broadcasters changed some of the data formats in preparation for digital switchover, and the firmware being written beforehand wasn't able to cope properly with it, hence the poor performance.

The update has restored the performance back to how it used to be, with near enough instantaneous response to the remote. It had become pretty frustrating to use before.

Updated via cable, what a difference! Even the wife commented.
Anybody who hasn't i hoghly recommend it, only £10.99 from Maplin, link on the Humax site.

Mine hadn't updated, but just remembered and searched and it's found it, doesn't seem to want to download though... Fingers crossed as I can't be bothered to search the loft for the update cable!

Mine did the same, switch it off, leave a minute or so and try again. won't find it.
Seems it stores that there is an update but doesn't download it.
Cable is the way.

Went up and got the cable, really wishing I hadn't bothered now! Since the update (which seemed to go fine) the box is faster, for sure, but if you go into standby then turn it back on again it freezes trying to get the epg out of memory.

Only way I've found to get around it is sit and hold channel change as you boot up so it doesn't try and start up on the channel you turned off on. Great.

Did you rest to default?
Mine works spot on, so far. Instantly better.
Will see after a few days if the crashing continues after the upgrade.

Could someone who's updated tell me the loader version being displayed? Mine still says 4.08 but the website says 4.09 should be installed?

Mine is 4.09a, but it has been that since new. The update to this used to be on the website, but I can't find it now. You could try emailing their tech support to see if they will send it to you.

Thumbs up for the 9200 update, nearly a week now and no hangs or crashes at all.
Been taping random stuff to try and make it crash but nope still working fine.

Well done Humax, not many companies would bother for what is a rather old product!
