Check the What HiFi reviews.

Some Sony models have backlight issues.

Any reason you're using Argos as a reference? Credit vouchers to be used up? Just general handiness?
Assuming you're free to purchase from wherever you like, then neither, would be on my card.
Instead, presuming you're not also going to be sat close enough to make use of the extra resolution a Full HD panel provides with BR movie playback at 1080p, then the 42X20 Panasonic Plasma will keep you more than happily entertained.
Should you fancy a bit of in-built Freeview HD and other features/improvements, then the 42S20 for not much more fits the bill.
If you're into your movies in a big way, then spend the extra again on the G20 model.

Just seamed to be a better than elsewhere on price and the ability to get it straight away. Didn't get one today as didn't get away from work in time so will keep an eye out for anything else on offer

You'll also get a FREE 5 year manufacturers warranty from an independant Panasonic dealer...and they'll probably deliver and set up for you FOC!
