Hi, I just wanted to ask some advice on how best to connect my setup.

This is how I would like it setup, but I'm not sure the best way to connect everything up to get the best out of the equipment.

My plasma is not HD, but can show upto 1080I, which when using the Xbox 360 Component cable is a 100% improvement over the regular composite / scart connection.

Audio is all through a surround Amp situated at the front of the room.

I don't really use the DVD player much, if at all, but its still there for when I do need it.

Most of the stuff I watch is through my laptop, so BBC Iplayer, DVD's through my laptop and also downloaded stuff.

At the moment, I'm just using the projector set up with the laptop through VGA to watch things and the Xbox is in a totally separate room. The highest quality input that the projector can take is VGA and is a lot better than regular S-video which is the next highest quality input.

My dilema now is that the projector is fine at night, but pants in the day when its bright, which is why I have my plasma. Obviously if I had the choice I would use the projector most of the time because the huge size is great.

Can someone recommend a good compromise in putting everything together. I can deal with unplugging and connecting a few cables at day or night, but I'm worried I'm going to be buying the wrong cable to run to the projector. I was thinking the cheapest way to do this is to buy a 10m VGA cable and have everything setup at the front of the room. Then I can plug in my laptop to whichever peice of equipment. Then for the Xbox, buy a VGA to Component adaptor so I can leave it plugged into the plasma, buy also use it with the projector when I want. (Will the long VGA cable and the Component to VGA adaptor ruin the image.) Or would it be better to buy something like HD Fury and connect that to the long VGA cable and use an HDMI cable instead to convert the single from digital to analogue.

ANy help is greatly appreciated,

(PS. I'm on a tight budget!!!)
