Having just moved house the new front room won't allow me to use my speakers from the old house. I have a set of B&W 602 and a matched centre speaker, plus some Yamaha surrounds. The thing I liked about this setup was that it was good with movies, but also very nice with music.

I'm now on the hunt for a smaller more discreet setup which is good with music and movies. Does such a thing exist for about £400 which is what I was willing to spend on a set of kef 1005.2 until I heard them trying to handle music. Is there anything that I can get for this sort of money that will do the job?

I'd love the front to be bi-ampable (if such a word exists). The amp in question is a Yamaha DSP-AX763 if that makes any difference at all.

ETA: I'm happy to go 2nd hand and have slightly larger speakers up front, just bear in mind that I also have a pair of B&W 601s which are still to big. Also I don't have a sensible place for a centre speaker so it will have to sit in front of the screen which is the Panny 42 V20 on a pedestal, and doesn't offer much in the way of clearance in front of the scren...

I have kef 3005SE through a yamaha amp which works well for both movies and music, of course its always a bit of a compromise but good nonetheless.

Ended up getting 5 B&W M1s off ebay, so I'm quite happy with that smile
