Had a quick search, but couldn't find anything on this topic.

I have noticed a marked degradation on the signal coming through my analogue tv aerial in the past two weeks (on the tv channels not connected through the Sky box that used to be fine). Had a poke round the loft and checked the various boosters/boxes etc - all seemed to be fine.

Have now noticed the same issue at my Mums house on her freeview through the analogue aerial.

Has anyone else noticed a similar problem recently? Is this coincidence (not even sure if the two ways of receiving signal would be affected in the same way), or is something going on to deliberately degrade analogue signals before the digital switch-over?

Both located in North London/Herts BTW.

Any info or guidance from those in the know would be much appreciated!

High atmospheric pressure causes issues with signals, if your signal is on the edge of poor, the high pressure will take it over that edge.

Are both aerials pointing at Crystal Palace, ie south?

Where abouts roughly? North of M25 or inside it?

Yep, c/p is running low power on and off at the moment on analogue. Will be like this until September time. Who still uses analogue???

I am north (St Albans) but mum is inside (Hendon).

Seems to be a strange cooincidence that we are both taking signals from analogue aerials and we have both started experiencing problems in the last couple of weeks.

An aerial is an aerial, there is no analogue or digital, your 'terrestrial' aerial will pick up both.

As I have already said, high atmospheric pressure plays havoc with the signal, if you are just on the edge then this may be why your picture is now bad. You will need to check you signal strength and maybe upgrade the aerial or find the weak link, a connection or poor cable?

I'm in Nth London on CP, I have no issues with analogue or digital reception.
