In the 40" range you really want a Plasma rather than an LCD, they're superior in every way.

I really hope this was tongue in cheek...I won't take much notice of their 'reviews' TBH. More than a few of which have been technically incorrect (such as claiming 24p support when the display in question cleary wasn't) as well as questionable bias.

Yeah I stopped buying the magazine on a regular basis, because of the bias.

However the suggestion was intended as a good starting point - there is some consistency to some of their reviews.
So if you see something you like, and it gets at least a 3* review, then compare it with other sites.

Whatever he gets, could you do me a favour and donate the old one to your local British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electricals shops, please?

It really isn't.

Honestly.

It's not, not even close. Nowhere near in fact.

Plasma is better than LCD, whether it's lit with LEDs or pixie dust.

Consistently the worst performing televisions we see.

Mediocre st in nice cases. It's their corporate edict.

How odd to hear that.

Two of my colleagues have Samsung sets, chosen because they were deemed to have the better picture by comparison.

My son also has a 22" Samsung, and it looks pretty good to me.
