get the G20

if that blows the budget then get the S20 which is the next best thing

panel isnt quite as good and it doesnt have the internet stuff
S and G share the same panel in this series - NEO PDP. You're thinking of last year's model line-up, where the G and V introduced it.

Moreover, how in God's name can you have the audacity to recommend one brand, and in the next breath, be a hypocrite by announcing you're going to go with another brand?
And then you reveal you couldn't tell the difference between them, when you looked at them in JL.

Remind me to never, and I mean never, ask you for advise on which brake pads to buy!

The difference between the two ignoring any fault condition is chalk and cheese.

Ah, OK.

Thanks for the relies (I think). The problem I have found in viewing TVs in the shops is they all are under artificial lights which to me changes everything.

I like Panasonic Plasmas.......

I sat and watched Avatar in 1080p on my Panny G20 last weekend.

I spent the entire movie about 3 feet away from the screen watching with slack jawed amazement at the quality of the picture, even the wife was impressed and she's the least impressed by any sort of technology out of all women in the entire world.

With hindsight I'd have just as well got an S20 because I don't really need the extra features of the G20, but never mind!

OK, I like this one (it will either be plugged into a Sky or Freesat twin tuner hard driver HD box):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX-P46S20B-46-in...

Is it a good buy? (I don't mean the price it is advertised on that link, I mean in general compared to other tellies).

Thanks.

Christ no!
See what I mean, you'd have me speeding into the scene of the accident, if I go with those over the Blacks or Performance Friction ones!

Thanks PJ S, that is very helpful.

I'm not really bothered about getting my telly on-line (that's what my PC is for wink ). The only other real difference I can see is:

Contrast Ratio (in dark surroundings) 2,000,000:1 Native Infinite Black (5,000,000:1 Native)

What is the difference between these two figures in real life viewing?
