Presumably it guesses:"In focus = mid depth"
"out of focus towards top of image = far away"
"out of focus towards the bottomw of image = near to camera"
It will then "lassoo" these and apply an appropriate "shift" in each of the images presented to your eyes to add the depth which it has guessed at. I can't see it being much more clever than that, but I'd love to know how it works if it is cleverer than that.

No one really notices anymore because it's so quickly become standard. The fact that there's very little other HD content doesn't fuss me too much, I just rent the odd Blu Ray. But gaming's where it's at.

Even watched "are you smarter than a 10 year old" last night in 3D just to see how good it was - interestingly they had some 3d and some 2d cameras shooting it.

Sky have charged NOTHING more than I was already paying - I just got the TV - lifes too short and sometimes you should just do it as after working and sleeping most people (!?) watch TV the most so may as well make it a good one hey ?
