A decent projector looks like a massive plasma/lcd.
And costs a fair whack more, ours had an RRP of 18k (but got a good deal so paid less).

Well yours was pretty expensive. But you can get a decent projector for £1200, with a good picture. Obviously the more you spend the better you get, it's not like one of those is going to be as good as yours, but if you want big then you need projector rather than tv imo. 60 is pretty small compared to 100 or so and you're not compromising on picture quality. Obviously depends on the circumstances, but I think the OP needs to check out some proper HT versions before writing them off.

Sorry was not meaning to come across as, well you know....

OH did not like the idea of projectors and had the impression that they were quite soft and dark. It was only when we saw the stupidly expensive ones that she realized how good they could be.

Davey,

42V20? The best set since, well, the Pioneer PDP-428XD - except with better motion processing.

The new range will not feature non-3D V grade kit so V20s are a last hurrah for the 2D über screens.

You can point and talk all day long about various, quality options but invariably, there can be only one...
