Quay for my Car - Poole Quay Event
Discussion
That Tamair was lovely - got to have been my favourite car of the night for me. The old Vixen (?) was stunning also.
7 TVRs Topcat beast - stunning in every way. Once again pictures do not do that car justice. A nice owner also!
Driving down in convoy with DonkeyApple and his Typhon - there seemed to be a lot of bemused motorists on the road yesterday!
Seeing 50% of all road-built Typhons parked nose to tail.
The Al Melling Tuscan was interesting - certainly a part of TVR modified history, but you can see how the world has moved on.
The supercharged LS1 behind it was beautiful - so cleanly done.
I have a confession to make - this was the first time I've been to a TVR meet and stayed more than five minutes (a long story about over-zealous people). I loved it. So many friendly people, knowledgeable and the weather did its stuff also. Thanks again.

Was the rear also wonkey?
Lovely car though
Mine had a "wonky" rear too...Red 280i Wedge...I thought I was being clever taking the car to my work in the morning so I didn't have to add about 30 mins driving in the evening, embarrasingly I managed to biff the exhaust on the drop bollard at the car park entrance (I've managed to miss it on the 5 or 6 previous visits to that car park!) but it pulled one of the joints apart and the exhaust dragged on the ground resulting in one of the mounts and the rear vallance being removed from the car.Lovely car though
Fortunately the nice people at the RAC came and re-attached my exhaust and rather than risk it falling off on the way down I had the rear vallance in the passenger seat of the car, but "balanced" it on the exhausts once i had arrived, so it wasn't totally obvious, but it still looked silly.
Was well worth the drive down and the car will be back to normal soon, thanks for the guys who organised the event.
I also might have converted another "punter" to TVR as he wanted to hear my car and I think he was hooked!!

Out of all of the Quay for my Car events so far this year that I've attended, this was easily the most impressive, best attended, and appeared of most interest to members of the public.
TVRs seem to capture the imagination and interest of the general public more than any other mainstream sports car brand, except perhaps Ferrari which are on a par I'd think.
Cheers for the messages of thanks, but I really did very little, just liaise with Poole Tourism by email. Very glad everyone enjoyed the evening, and I'll contact the tourism team shortly to ask about next year.

Copy of message sent to Poole Tourism just now:
Anne,
Firstly, I want to pass on a huge thank you, to you and your team, from myself and all of the TVR owners who attended the event on Friday evening. There have been many messages of thanks posted on the Pistonheads Forum saying how well organised the event was.
With the great weather, and a super turn-out (88 or so I heard?), I have to say that the whole experience was fabulous, and I certainly heard many members of the public expressing interest in the cars and enjoying the overall experience. Compared to the other evenings I've attended this year, it seemed that the TVRs generate a bit more curiousity! Then I would think that being an owner :-)
Secondly, given how successful the evening was, there is a lot of interest from the owners in making this an annual event. So I was wondering if you can see your way to scheduling a regular TVR night each year in either this same weekend in July, or perhaps during August? I for one, would be happy to drum up support again.
Thanks once again,
Mike

Just like to add my thanks to those who organised and marshalled this great event. Drove down from Bristol, not as far as some travelled I know, but it was great to see so many TVR's all together. Luckily meet up with some other in Harbour Park who knew the way in to the Quay. Thanks for a great night!
Thanks Mickydoo for sorting out a great evening!!
