Cheers Ian, shame I did not have the camera running for the Brucey bonus Dartford tunnel at the start, I was expecting the bridge to be open.

Yes I seen the photos Nick took on the TVRCC site, very nice photos except the ones of us loitering with intent! smile

LOL that video reminds me of when I got lost on TITT8, looked behind and over 10 TVR had followed me.

The picture quality looks great on that Vio camera. I take it that is better than a GoPro?

It is in a lot of ways, the quality is better but it's things like the recorder has a screen, it takes AA battery's (which last up to 4 hours using lithium) the remote is standard, the mic input has +24v and you can change the exposure and bit rate of the footage. Oh and the Americans use them to film troops in war zones :-)

All round it is a very good package the only draw back is it can take a bit of time to set up, unlike a gopro which you just plonk on and switch on.

The POV.HD is good, but not as good as the Go Pro Black. I've just gone from the POV to the Black. However the battery on the Go Pro Black is poor compared to the POV, particularly in the cold, when the POV can survive for long periods on lithium batteries smile I used it for snowboarding smile Anyway the Go Pro Black does come with an open case so you can have power to it in the car, 64GB of data smile The POV has a car charger too. Both Pros and cons but the versatility and picture quality on the black wins out. The POV won't disappoint though.

I'm the other way round hehe

Will always take a VIO if I can over GoPro's every time.

Many thanks for the advice gents. I am seriously impressed by those captures from the vio, the quality is mind blowing. I did look at a Vio before I purchased my GoPro2 as I could not justify the cost for the vio. Ironically by the time I had bought the correct mounts, skelton case, remote and screen it was it far off the cost if the vio and nowhere near the quality.

Interesting to hear about the GP3 Black. Having invested down the GP route I may look at a black if the quality is comparable to the vio. I do like being able to control multiple GPs from an ipad.

It's generally recognised as the leading action camera...

The 1080 and 720 settings are comparable with the VIO. Other than that the gap increases, however you will probably only use these settings in the main. The Go Pro Black is more flexible, you can stick it anywhere without a cable. cheaper too tongue out yes there are mounts etc, but I had to buy the same thing with the VIO. I prefer the look of the vio, not really sold on the stupid camera look tongue out

This is from their website

The HERO3: Black Edition captures professional, cinema-quality video at 2X the resolution and 2X the frame-rate of previous models while delivering 2X better low light performance. Slow-motion aficionados and industry professionals will love the HERO3: Black Edition's 1080p-60, 720p-120, WVGA-240, 960p-100 and 1440p-48 video modes while those desiring a cinematic look will appreciate the ultra-high resolution 2.7KP-30 fps and 4KP-15 fps (Protune only) video modes.
