The problem is that people lead busy lives, so don’t want to commit early and have to organise the entire family calendar around their track day booking.
I did commit to Cadwell, despite having a lot on the go, mainly because I live near Cadwell.

No idea how many bookings they actually have, but they have clearly lost their nerve, despite their accounts showing that they had £70k in the bank and £130k in investments at 30th September. Some of us will have a go at drumming up bookings, if they can give us a week......but Cadwell is just beyond the back of beyond, and many of my TVR track day friends live near London.

I fully intend to go to Rockingham, but don’t want to commit to that right now.
While I would like to do Rockingham it is relatively expensive, my car is only 97 dB, and it’s my 65th birthday that day, so my wife may well want to be away, indeed, she may possibly want to be a broad. It’s also the Friday before August bank holiday, so the roads will be errrrrr, interesting.

I hadn't booked but was going, if it doesn't go ahead can we turn this into a unofficial gathering and go anyway.

Nice thought, but pointless....we won’t be allowed on the track. I will call the TVRCC on Monday and see if there is anything to be done. I suspect the timing of the cancellation is not random - we are exactly one month before the date of the event.

I was told of the cancelation on Friday morning, the decision taken by the Club directors. For the last TVRCC track day we did in September 2017, we had 44 people paid up to do the event at the one month before point. A further 10 people signed up in the final 4 weeks. So that event lost a small amount of money.

As at 26 February we had 23 people paid up to do this year's Cadwell Track Day. This despite having had announcements and adverts in Sprint; announcements on the TVRCC, Pistonheads and Facebook forums; and the Club Office even emailing details to all the members they hold email addresses for.

TVRCC Zolder 2018 has already been cancelled. If you want the Club to do its own track days, pay your deposit to do Rockingham now?

Richard Sails (TVRCC Chairman) has stated that if 20 people book by Monday he will do his best to ensure the trackday goes ahead. So all those people sitting on the fence book now, there is still a chance to save the Cadwell trackday

What?!?
Premature decision.
I literally booked on Friday morning. I rarely pay for a trackday more than a month ahead of the date for a plethora of reasons. Not least that I want to be confident that my car is ready for it. If we are to have early season trackdays that is surely to be expected, as some people are yet to get their cars out from their hibernation, if they have a hibernation.
The TVRCC trackdays are always amongst the best I do, with drivers often driving their pride and joy (and thus with a little more care than some trackday drivers), so for the trackdays to be poorly promoted or cancelled is extremely saddening.
No doubt the timing of the cancellation is a commercial decision- 4 weeks notice etc.

Last year I suggested that perhaps making the trackday as cheap as it was (£140, I think) wasn't attracting any more particpants and if the price was a little higher we would have be closer to breaking even. I spoke to about a dozen drivers (admittedly, only about a quarter of the total) on the day and ALL said they would still have come if it was £20/£25 more expensive. I also suggested we offer spaces to another club in a similar position (as the Ferrari club had recently cancelled one of their days apparently).

These trackdays are the MAIN reason I am still a club member, as I don't have time for 'meetings' or sufficient interest for static car shows by and large.

If we want TVRCC trackdays to continue we need to make it known (by bookiing them). And if there really are less than 40 TVR drivers interested in a Cadwell trackday then I am saddened even further

Come on Jes, you know how much fun Cadwell is, especially since they took that tree away from the end of the start finish straight.....

I have emailed about a dozen friends, so far two have replied, one yes, one no because he is working that day. I booked about two weeks ago, but am hoping I have sorted my overheating issues by then

Just tried to book but I was unable to, I have added my name to the list on the club forum, it's looking a bit more hopeful now as they seem to have the 45 required to break even.

Seems the website won’t accept bookings - has it been blocked to avoid further bookings?

We’ll done the 22 who came forward (or had planned to book sooner or later) and saved the day. We now have 45 booked onto the day, but still plenty of space for more. TDOs usually have 75+ booked with no serious hold-ups in track time.

We now have 55 drivers booked and paid for the Cadwell Park TVR track day on 3rd April. This means there are only 5 places left to fill. The TVR Car Club Office closes on Thursday afternoon for the Easter bank holiday for anybody wanting to book to attend.
