Ok so when I plug my charger in (been doing this for over a year with no problems) with the car locked or unlocked after a minute the red battery/alternator light comes on ?

Open a door (any door) and it goes out shut door (fob pressed and locked or just door shut and unlocked ) the light will come back on after a minute ?

Never done this before ?

Checked door sill pin switches and the passenger side one when pressed does not generate a click/clunk in the mech ? Took it out cleaned it (looked decent) but still the same

If I unplug charger it all works ok and light does not illuminate and car locks and unlocks fine

(I’ve checked the rubber pucks on doors to push pin switches etc )

Do you think the passenger pin switch is not working correctly hence why if charger plugged in it will illuminate the battery light ?

TIA

I would suspect you have an
earth issue somewhere in the door or the loom from door to car.

Does the fuel level gauge and oil light come on with the ignition light?

Try removing the interior light relay (tall yellow jobbie) and see if it still does it.

Also pull fuse 4 and see if it still does it.

Ok fuse 4 was ok but I don’t use the cig lighter as charge point if that was the thinking ?

Pulled the courtesy light relay , plugged charger in as per normal and no battery light so fingers crossed that was the issue (also the casing of the relay was deformed on one edge as if it’s got hot at some point !)

I’ve also pulled both sill switches and liberal WD40 tbf they looked very good and very clean connections etc !

But for now the pulled relay seems to have stopped battery light coming on !

Regards and thanks for help !

This sounds very logical as that relay has been known to fail and drain the battery.
