Today’s email from the club states bringing V5, MOT certificate and insurance!

What’s that all about? That has never been asked for on any track days.
I think that’s old hat now - I was there last time & it wasn’t required.

Taping lights is optional. I will not bother.

As for fuel, I always start with a full tank as it disappears faster then a cheap bottle of Prosecco on an Essex hen night!

In 20+ times at Cadwell, never been asked for. I don't think I've taped my lights for about 20 years either!

Worth a go and if the plug leads are in the firing line how about fashioning a heat shield in the area as a just in case solution.
Good idea. I won't get much time to do anything but will see what I can do. Else, could always come in the Trackhawk!

Most of today’s email from the club looks like the advice on track day prep from page 367 of The Bible I have just noticed.

Round objects to that lot.

As Phazed says, I won't be taping my lights and won't be bringing car docs.
Famous last words, but in about 40 track days I have never had a headlight smash, never mind a rear light.
Cadwell Park is swept clear of all stones, and as far as I recall there are no gravel traps.

The most important advice is to drive within your limits if it is wet - a good proportion of the grass at the side of the track slopes downhill to the Armco, and you don't stand the slightest chance of stopping the thing on wet grass if you stray off the hard stuff.

Would suggest its not a bad idea driving within your limits if its dry too, cars don't slow much on dry grass either wink

Think you just missed a comma.. biggrin

The Met office states that the weather is going to be okay.

BBC weather states worse weather.

I’m going to go by the Met office!

I agree with that in most suitations, but I have been onto the grass four times at Cadwell in my many outings there, and in all cases managed to find enough traction to avoid hitting anything. To be fair, on three occasions I had plenty of space, but the other time I went off at about 70mph to the right going down the steep hill from the Gooseneck to Mansfield, and if it had been wet I would have ended up in Mansfield.......Notts, via the armco..

Just now, BBC Weather forecast for tomorrow:

"Tomorrow, it will be a mostly dry start to the day with cloudy skies.
In the afternoon, it will continue to be cloudy, and there may be a few heavy and thundery showers."

So just like the first TVRCC track day I did in 2013.
We drove home on track tyres in a total cloudburst, car running on about 5 cylinders and skating all over the A46 dual carriageway...at 25 mph.

But until about 4 pm it was a great day when the heavens opened.
My best beloved came with me and managed several passenger rides.
She is profoundly deaf, and the upside is she never gets car sick.
Though she did declare she was wearing the wrong colour trousers.
Her fault for saying "don't you go any faster?" at the end of the sighting laps.
Going over the outside rumble kerbs whilst braking from 120 mph at Park Corner was what prompted the above comment.

Here's hoping the weather holds tomorrow and we all have a safe and fun time.
