Any details of the online briefing chaps?

I've a letter from TVRCC referring to a briefing on Friday morning at 8.30am and nothing else.

For those who have done the cadwell track day before, what is the format? Is it separate sessions for Novice, Intermediate, advanced groups? If so, is this all day or does it turn into open pit lane in afternoon? Or something else?

If different group sessions, how long are they?

When you booked (or do book if not already full) - you'll declare whether novice, intermediate, advanced.
Sessioned definitely in the morning - 20mins per session
Afternoon fully dependent on numbers on track etc. Generally remains sessioned as such a great track and everyone stays for the day

Sessions are 20 mins so you'll have 40 minutes gap between sessions. Last 2 or 3 TVRCC days at Cadwell have gone to open pit after lunch.

I’m hiring a helmet hopefully as I don’t have one yet (they said this is possible at track).

I did a day at Cadwell earlier in the summer and they were NOT hiring helmets as part of their Covid risk assesment/responsibilities so I would check directly with MSV that they will be on Fri.

I checked with the club and they said helmets were for hire again and are a tenner.
But by all means call MSV - number's on their website - and check.

While you are at it you might want to check if their normal rules of full face in an open car apply.
The TVRCC gave me the impression that helmets are optional and dressing like Biggles was acceptable.

interesting. I did an event in Oulton park two weeks ago and wore a balaclava with their open faced helmet.

I must be getting senile - I checked this on 27th August....

The TVRCC confirm that passenger rides will be available (no COVID restrictions) and a day pass as a passenger is £10.
They also confirm that helmet hire is available at the circuit for £10 for the day. It is likely to be cash only at the circuit.
Spectating is free and you can get close to the action at a number of places around the circuit, as well as being able to wander around the paddock and see all the cars.

Worth a go and if the plug leads are in the firing line how about fashioning a heat shield in the area as a just in case solution.

Today’s email from the club states bringing V5, MOT certificate and insurance!

What’s that all about? That has never been asked for on any track days.

Hope I can find the certificates!

When it says to tape the lights, is that just an X with electrical tape?

Also, how important is it that I only have 3/4 of a tank? I have a full tank and live 5 miles away with minimal opportunity to drive tomorrow to burn some!
