Weather looking very promising for the end of next week. I know it is early days yet but it is looking good.

Those wishing to run dry tyres, they can hopefully leave those tyres at home.

Really looking forward to this, as I have only driven Donington once before, and that was in January where it reached -4 during the night! Track was a bit hairy to say the least for the first few hours!

Looking forward to seeing those classics whizzing around the track.
Yeah it should be fab. Lots of space at Donni so good fun in the paddock and a great track.

I’m at Perranporth so fingers crossed we all get good weather.

Why oh why has the forecast changed? The only wet day in the next week is Friday, at the moment...

Hopefully that will change...

Showing thunder and lightning on the bbc forecast

Looks like buying those rainsport5s for the tuscan wasn't a daft move after all?

Now all i need to do is engineer some kind of roof ...

sigh ...

Hi Joolz, long time... I look forward to seeing your beast on track and catching up.

If the weather really does look like underpants all day I will probably take the, cough, Skoda.

The forecast has been getting worse by the hour…I am just clinging to the hope that the BBC forecast is normally wrong!

Met Office forecast far more encouraging so I'll go with that one. Never tracked my Caterham with the roof on anyway and I don't intend to - yet to work out how to get into it! Really looking forward to enjoying this fabulous flowing circuit. Are we using the loop?

Not sure about the loop. Only driven this track once and I believe it was the full circuit.

Will make a final decision about which car and what tyres tomorrow.

Just changed the brake fluid and brake pads on both cars just in case!

No wonder some people think we are a bit mad!

The loop is at the end of the lap.
If it is missed out, you slalom right and left onto the start finish straight after passing the big building on your left that is the car museum..
If it is included, you slalom left and right instead and go down hill to the Melbourn hairpin, which is behind the pits, 180 degrees right at the end and climb back up, then 180 degrees left onto the start finish straight.

Ah, yes, I did do the track with the loop included in January.

BBC weather forecast isn’t as generous. It is better than thundery showers forecast yesterday but still for light rain all day. Could be worse I suppose.

The car museum hasn't been there for years now.

Thanks Lucy - every day's a school day. Saves me planning to take the grandchildren to see it. They loved their trips to Aston Martin and JCB with Pistonheads.

No probs. It was the late Wheatcroft Snr's baby. I think Wheatcroft Jnr. didn't have the same interest, so when JP took over the circuit, the museum was closed, and Wheatcroft Jnr. sold off all the cars.

Since JP moved the main entrance and created the new offices etc. on the left as you come through the barriers, the museum site is a bit out of the way and isolated too. It's used for other things, and there is a motorcycle dealer nearby, with a nice looking cafe, although it's quite a walk from the paddock.

Did anyone have the foresight to book a garage? I’ll just be bringing an umbrella

I know Stuart, (MK1 fan) has booked a garage.

I will be in my trusty motorhome hiding away from the showers, (or thundery heavy rain!).
