Heads up for now.
The 2009 Growl will be 31st July to the 2nd August, still at Ettington. This was the only weekend they had free and maybe we will get some decent weather for a change.
The hotel can be booked NOW quoting Griff Growl on 01789 740000.
Rooms are £65 double B&B, and £55 single B&B.
We have 10 traders committed to attend with a large number still TBC.
Format will be as usual (curry Friday, BBQ Saturday, rolling road, traders) but we will be looking to add to this. Obviously the weather has been shocking in 2007 and 2008 which has hampered outdoor activities.
We were intending on a joint Wedge/Griff event but it hasn't materialised but is still an option. We tried to find a venue which ticks as many boxes as Ettington but we couldn't in the time we had.
I have a list of volunteers but if you feel you want something added (not strippers and heavy metal band) then please feel free to suggest and more organisers are welcome to help out.
Andrea and myself have been main organisers/coordinators since 2004 so this is the 6th year and we have less and less time to commit. I think 2010 we need to look for another venue, or maybe add a more formal event into the calendar on top of the normal chit chat/pi55 up weekend of the Growl.
Thank you all for the support over the years and due to so many regular attendees I'm sure we have the mix of informal/location/cost about right but we can always do more with the support and help of a few more.
We will get a summary update as a stick so you can follow progress.

I'm hoping to come in my Elise. Don't worry, I'll put TVR badges on it. Will be good to see the old faces (hopefully even the old car, David!).

If you're concerned about potential attendance I'd suggest opening it up to other TVR models earlier.

I still think parking by reg year is a good idea. I realise spaces/year allocation would be tricky, but if all the yellow cars' owners can manage to park together I'm sure the rest of us (whoops - you) can.

It's testament to how right the Growl is that I'm going to use my one 'weekend' pass for the Growl and not some piffly lightweight Lotus meeting.

Hope to see you all there.

I'll add a request for good weather into my bedtime prayers angel

If you want anything doing that involves a visit to Ettington give me a yell. I work just down the road 3 days a week and I'll happily driving down there for you.

Yep - Griffter's old 4.3 BV will be there - albeit with a new owner. Looking forward to attending and meeting some of the folks.

The numbers have been down the last couple of years just due to the weather, IMHO.

If it's sunny, I can see the non-Griffs being on the grass, and I honestly don't believe Ettington is big enough for the Growl and A N other model meet at the same time, certainly not with the Wedges.

It's hard enough getting the Griffs parked together and keeping the others out of that part of the car-park as it is, let alone age-grouping, 4, 4.3, 500, LE etc. It could be done once everybody is there, but it would take a long time, and I'm sure most people would rather be yakking and drinking.

As far as I can remember, there are only two people other than the FlipFlops who've been to every Growl. I wonder who they are?

I'm sure there are even some people who've not been yet.

Lets all ask for sunshine and not too much wind.

We did 2004 almost entirely on our own but since then a number of people have helped out, without which, it wouldn't have happened, so thanks to you all.
