A couple of suggestions you may like to think about, if you haven't already, are (1) an organised route for a drive out, weather permitting; and (2) if you are looking for a band to play then Carl Baker's "One Weird Fish" are really good and play a varied selection of covers and should appeal to most people.

There was a run out last year, well the route was printed, think the rain played a part in its demise. Paul, thanks I will add it to my list of stuff to do..eek

Suggestion for GG09

Best Griff

I don't know how it'd work, but there are loads of us who are happy to go on the RR for a shoot-out and plenty of others who prefer their pet RR to 'prove' their manhood. How about we arrange a proper test? Bugger the numbers.

It works like this:

Dual carriageway or motorway.
Side by side at 50mph in fourth.
Floor it.
First to 70mph (or agreed marker) wins.

Numbers and times immaterial.

End of.

Awaits flaming ...

Hi Bob, yes will be there in the SE. The Saggy is now up and running. For the first three weeks of ownership, it spent two and a half weeks in the garage. It turned out to be a fault in the ecu. After a bit of hasstle, managed to get it done under warranty though.

No better feeling then getting one of the gay cars on a sunday poncing along then they see the Griff and want to show off to the Missus/Bimbo/Jail Bait (delete as appropriate) next to them..... let them give it full beans whilst you casually sit there gently sueezing the throtle.... then accidently on purpose pushnig your right foot down a little harder because you're board of the snail like progress and leaving them in a cloud of petrol/exhaust fumes hehe .... funny thing they never want to catch up and say nice car as they are too embarressed... unlike owners of other more worthy marques hehe

Just 12k service.
And new diff.
And new gearbox.
And steering de-sloppified.
Nothing serious - just loadsamoney.

I did the MSE course with you - that was half a track day. wink It was excellent fun but it clearly demonstrated that the Griff has more to offer than I can safely contain at the moment. That's nothing to do with why I fancy a change - that's because I fancy a change. OK, so whatever I choose certainly won't have the grunt or sense of occasion the Griff provides but it will be a change. Which is good.
Still can't make up my mind though - the two porkers you've mentioned or a 996, Maser 3200GT/Spyder, Z3/4M, XKR ...

I'd forgotten about that MSE Performance day, It was a brilliant days fun too thumbup

The Masser 3200GT was on my original shopping list before I bought my first Griff, Ironically I chose the TVR over the 3200GT cos of all the electrical gremlin horror stories I'd heard from Ex. owners...lol

Hmmm. Just booked my room.
When I called the number in FFG's first post they told me the best price they could do was £65 for a single. After a little to-ing and fro-ing I got them to put me through to the hotel itself where they told me it was £60. Again I had to point out that we had an agreed rate of £55, which to be fair, they conceded.
I've asked for email confirmation just in case.

The number is the hotel so who knows who you spoke to. If you quotye GRIFF GROWL the price is £65 double, £55 single. I have signed an agreement to this end. Any problems ask for Rachel Thomas who is fully aware. If you have no joy let me know and I'll sort it.
