I have the Saturday and Sunday off so I'll be there woohoo
Is it worth booking for Friday and Saturday nights if I can only get there by about 8-9pm on the Friday ? I realise I'll miss the Curry but does anything else go on, or could we meet you all after the curry for a beer or two ?

Simon.

eta Booked for Friday and Saturday smile. Can't wait.

NB. They are still trying to charge £75 double or £65 single per night. Have now changed it on their booking system but beware when calling !!

I don't know if any of you either know about or have been collecting the loyalty stickers from Ettington.

I have and because of that, we get to stay this year for free!

Yeehah!

A couple of suggestions you may like to think about, if you haven't already, are (1) an organised route for a drive out, weather permitting; and (2) if you are looking for a band to play then Carl Baker's "One Weird Fish" are really good and play a varied selection of covers and should appeal to most people.
The run out sounds like a job for Bob yes Bob a Job rofl

There was a run out last year, well the route was printed, think the rain played a part in its demise. Paul, thanks I will add it to my list of stuff to do..eek
I'm happy to help out organise a route for a run out, or just help out.

Have my Chimmy now and live just a half mile from Ettington Chase so nice and handy.

Maz, ta for the offer, hope you are pleased with the new car? Will see what is happening on the route side and let you know...Not sure about a route planned by a Chimp owner though, may be a bit slow for the Griffs....laugh

GROWL BBQ UPDATE
All booking through myself. BBQ is on the Saturday at the White Horse pub and the £10 will include food and a band. Kirk usually gets a local brewer to bang out a few barrels of real ale and is renamed "Growler" for the evening. Ali puts on a great spread of non meat stuff, so there is something for everyone. The weather hasn't been kind the last 2 years so we are due a dry, warm night.
Tickets will be on a first come (ie paid), first served basis. We have reached the max the last 2 years so DO NOT delay booking. I will confirm all bookings by e-mail. My e-mail details are in Sprint, or w-mail via my profile on here.

GROWL FRIDAY NIGHT CURRY RUN.
The annual pre Growl weekend festivities again kicks off Friday night 31st July 2009 with the traditional coach run into Stratford on Avon for the Curry night.
Coach leaves Ettington Chase at 19.00 for meal at 19.30. Return coach from Restaurant at 22.00.
Meal.
Any starter.
Any main course.
Rice or Naan bread.
Complimentary side dish.
Drinks are the individuals responsibilty! Usually worked out per table.
At the moment I am more than hopeful that I can get the meal and coach at LESS than last years price which was about £18 from memory. (I have the meal cost, just awaiting confirmation of the coach cost.)
What do I have to do now to participate in this evening of general bonhomie with fellow Griffters, I hear you say.
Simply contact me with numbers attending preferably by PM or email at
young@debbob.fsnet.co.uk
For now I just need to know how many are attending.
Payment will not be required until much nearer the time, I will update with the actual cost shortly.
Ta,
Bob.
