Not asked on TVRCC as frankly I've never been on there, no idea how to get on,
That's good we can carry on talking about you there then So playing Devils Advocate a little .......
For the Silverstone do, did the TVRCC issue a special ticket to get in that parking area or did the man in the high viz jacket on the gate just direct you to that parking area because you were driving a TVR.
Also I'm expecting the infield area of Donington to look a little 'dug up' or at least it certainly should be if they are going to get the new track sorted.
The new section pretty much goes straight through the old 'parking area'
I'd be happy to join the TVRCC gang but I need more details, I just need to know what 'all areas pass' gets you that a standard ticket doesn't as Donington very rarely charge any extra for any extra access anywhere.
I hope I'm wrong and the TVRCC has sorted exclusive access infield and we'll all be parked up on a new section of as yet unused racetrack, but if this is the case put it in the advert.

Steve, I'm disappointed by the level of vitriol, even if it's intended as 'devil's advocate'. It's my 1st time back here for a year (thanks for the tip off Tony ) but it's not making me feel like I've missed anything or have any need to return anytime soon...We are in the last stages of confirming the details of what and where, partly due to the ongoing works at Donington. At the visit to the site last week, we were told that there would be no infield access - definately at this meet, and probably all year. However, if what we are trying to sort with Britcar and a sponsor is confirmed, then it will be well worth booking through TVRCC. Looking like being an exciting meet, on and off track - more information will be announced on TVRCC.com news pages & the tvrcc forum as soon as we can.

TVRCC Events
Nothing meant in a nasty way, I just like to know what the premium price ticket (considering the fact I don't need 2 adult weekend passes, if you did the TVRCC ticket is a good deal) gets, so many times I've seen 'VIP' tickets for all sorts of events, not TVRCC ones, that elude to much but deliver little, the classic 'wait and see' line is unfortunately code for it's not confirmed yet and may not happen.
Not surprised about the infield parking issues, I'd heard that not much building work has happened yet but I'll be there on Saturday to see for myself.
Look forward to hearing what the final details are and I'll be booking with the TVRCC if the details are posted before the ticket deadline.
as long as I think it's worth £6

I hope you'll join us in the TVRCC area Steve. I'm know Nick and the club team are trying their very best to get the best possible deal regarding all things for the weekend.
Some things may of course prove difficult due to the development work in progress at Donington. I feel the only display of vehicles in certain areas this year may be one of JCBs!
As far as value for money is concerned for most I'm sure it will be excellent value, just like Silverstone last year. There may be exceptions depending on which days people attend and how many people are in each car, but that's always the case with these things. I'll be bringing the Cerb both days with two adults and two children, so it's great value for me.
Look forward to hearing the final details but I'm sure it will be a great two days of top racing

From attending Donington Park AGM's I don't envy anyone having to deal with the Donington 'Management' and I'm sure Nick and Co will be doing a sterling job and at times banging heads on walls.
I'll be talking with my usual TVR sparing partner on Saturday at Donington and I can see us both joining you all.
If only to save my dodgy legs from a little walking by parking 1/2 a mile nearer the action.
Might have to see if I can offload the spare Saturday ticket though.

I'm hoping to go, and thinking of camping saturday night anybody else ??
Rob
A group of us camped an donington a couple of years ago for the le mans series event, be warned, the campsite is at the end of the runway of the east midlands airport frieght terminal, and they keep going all bloody night so take some earplugs if you want some sleepRob

May be up for camping depending upon what is going on and if anyone else is going to. It's an hour or so to go home and we'd get a decent kip so torn at the minute but I am partial to a shandy or two. Not too keen on the end of runway camping. I seem to recall Clive that you said the toilet facilities were marginal too?? Maybe I've convinced myself.

Just when we thought it was all sorted.....
This afternoon, I received a call from Britcar who confirmed that Donington are not being granted a track licence by the MSA so there will be no meeting there on the 2-3rd May 2009.
Their intention is to move the entire race weekend to Rockingham Motor Speedway - somewhere TVRCC know very well. Confirmed for the move so far are the Britcar GT, Britcar Production and Dutch Supercar Challenge; other support races (including TVREC) will be confirmed next week.
Over the next week we will be working with Britcar, Rockingham and others to determine what the details of the TVRCC event will be at Rockingham - Britcar have reiterated their wish for us to move with them, and are offering all of the elements that were planned for Donington.
Once we have the new package defined, then we will be contacting everyone who has already booked, to re-confirm their booking in the new location. In the meantime, Ali in the club office has confirmed that no payments have been processed or will be processed until reconfirmed by the member concerned.
Over the next week, we will be renegotiating the TVRCC package of ticket prices, parking location, camping, evening 'do' etc etc. At the moment, very few people who can help with this are contactable due to the Easter break, so it's a 'next week' job - more details on TVRCC.com as things firm up.
