scratchchin Ah, but how do we know who's the quickest?
idea What we need one day is a pre-meet meet at a go-kart track to determine grid positions biggrin

Great idea!! You up for silverstone some time?
There will be points where overtaking is easy so positions can be shuffled. Not important on short runs, but more important on longer ones!

yes My enthusiasm is probably greater than my ability but as long as there's a wheel in each corner, I'd be up for most things.

We should lobby Grumps for a H&B go-kart championship (at least that way we'd all have the same power & set-up - allegedly! hehe)

What time do you think you will going through Newport? I have to pick my mate up from Wimbish so could tag along from there, can't stay long at the meet as we are going to pop upto the TVR Sprint champs at North Weald driving

yes
Ah yes, a driving style I picked up with some success while playing Gran Tourismo on PS3 against my nephew last Christmas. In real life it completely shags your front wings though but hey, at least you'd get one good result! biglaugh
Having said that, James Hunt made a career of it. scratchchin He didn't have to pay for repairs though!

Now thats a good question! I will try a dry run this weekend and get some times. Would have thought about 10:30-10:45

Will be coming down a small road from thaxsted, then heading north through newport over the saffron walding roundabout through the 50 zone and taking the left to barley (barkway? can never remember which).

Newport maybe a good place to plan a 15 min break anyway. Do you know anywhere suitable for 15+ cars?

I don't know anywhere in Newport as its not a very big place anyway but are you taking the road from Thaxted to Newport that goes past the barracks (Carver) if so there is a big layby just past the barracks entrance?

No. Taking the less busy road that leads directly out from Thaxted town cetre through Debden. Will look for somewhere to stop this weekend.

When you come to the end of that road where you do a left to Newport if you turn right the layby is up there about 1 mile on your right handside, have a look this weekend if you can and see what you think?
