TVR class at York Raceway 12th April - List
Discussion
I had a 50 ltr bottle of nitrous delivered and yesterday discovered that fittings were missing and i couldnt fill my bottles!
Now i have to detour to Stockport on the way to York this afternoon.
I will be happy when im there in a warm tent with a cold beer.
See you there, i hope all can make it as the weather looks dry and the atmosphere is always excellent.

Top day.
Shame about the number of runs and apparent preference for all other classes.

Super pics Spluffy !
Great fun, despite me being half asleep.
It was really good to put some faces to names, and I'll definitely be giving it another go. The car performed perfectly...just me who was slow on the uptake.
Had to depart early as my 15 year-old son and his band had their first gig that day, so very special day for him too, but it seems that I wouldn't have got another run anyway. My best time was 14.9, which considering I was sat on the line for a couple of seconds picking my nose and looking at the green light....
Let's all do it again !

Great to see a good turnout of TVRs and great to meet you all, like Graham says, it was nice to put faces to names on here.
Here are a few of my photo's and the video which I had to cram in to 10 mins, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-OKmHy3mg4

First of all, apologies to the people who weren’t too happy about the number of runs they managed to get in the day.
I spoke to Steve who runs the show and he said Easter is always very busy but this weekend was much busier than usual.
To get the most out of the day you really need to be signed up and ready to go at 10am and be willing to stay till the end of play which was about 5:30 pm.
The late afternoon rain made conditions tricky and it was recommended the rear wheel drive cars didn’t run on safety grounds. I spoke to Steve and he said we could run at our own risk. Half a dozen of us took this risk and it was fine.
I managed 7 runs all day and actually ran my quickest time of 12.36 on my last run.
My official ‘V’ class best was a 12.51 and if anyone knows a quicker ET before the official times are posted on the York website then please let me know as there is a humble whiskey glass for ‘best in club’ in my care.
Thanks to all who came out and I hope you enjoyed the experience on and off the track. I will be there at all the meetings this year and maybe we can organise the TVR class again on a quieter date so we can all get at least 10 runs in and get our techniques sorted and times down.

Well done Derek on a great day, I think we surprised the staff how many TVRs were there, it was good to have our own parking and lane, I think it surprised a few TVR owners how enjoable a day at the drag strip can be, but I do think with all the money they took there that they could at least fill some of those potholes in on the approach road, skinflints.

Thanks Kev,lets hope some drivers got the bug.
The race days are covered by the PDRC and the track is rented i believe. I hear the owner is the skinflint who wont get the potholes sorted. The guys at the track do the their jobs volunterally and take days to keep the upkeep of the facilities as best they can.
The 3rd/4th of May is the next meeting and the right hand lane will have the 0-60 mph camera. Chance to prove those 0-60 times!
Hi Derek
Had a fantastic day - wasn't disappointed at all with my first outing as a drag racer!!
I had the blue Chim (Same colour has yours but without the go-faster stripes!!!).
Very impressed with the performance with your Chim, makes me want to up grade my car somehow to be more competitive.
I didn't perform too badly - my best time over 1/4 mile 14.3 sec at 98mph.
Certainly got the bug and can't wait till the next meeting
Thanks for a great day
