Andy Holden is racing in the Super GT race at Silverstone this Saturday, which is part of Aston Martins race day schedule. Its the Saggy with the 5.7 Litre chevy in. There is a 40 minute race at 16-40 for Super GTs with no limits on power or modifications, so should be a thrilling race.
Only £8 to get in and a good line up of racing throughout the afternoon.
After the disappointment of not having the car ready in time for the tvrcc Rockingham weekend, it will be good to see the car up and racing.

It should be a good day - racing & weather!

Qually: Spent 5 mins bedding in new front pads, 5 mins on the jacks cooling off, 9 mins to set a time... left rear tyre pressure went way too high, felt down on power, developed a misfire on 4th hottish lap, aborted rest of qually. Qualified 3rd.

Investigated misfire, no compression in No 7, impact damage on spark plug, withdrew car from race, packed up.

Race: watched from grassy knoll

We have a No 7 cylinder which is getting too hot and detonating - wrecked the rebuilt engine in less than 40 minutes of use. Need to understand why this is the case before putting a new the rebuilt engine back in and using it. Something is not quite right and the results are catasrophic....

Sorry to hear that,

Hope you get it sorted, sounds like it's going to be fast once it's all working.

I know how much of a struggle it is when everything keeps going wrong.

Pretty much everything is working - but unfortunately we have something which is directly impacting the engine's achilles heel - det in No7. Everything else is all good - the gearbox is superb, the flat shift works beautifully, the aero is working well, brakes are good. Just one small, but vital, problem to diagnose
