May add my name to this if I buy the Audi Elise. Just to see what she can do
Have you gone to see it yet? Thanks for coming down saturday aswell it was really appreciated. At the moment its still not got the roof back on, but i should be able to get far enough as that today (1/2 day at work)
Yesterday i managed to do all of the underlay and the first few bits of carpet.
And yes i ended up needing to take a hacksaw to my spanner to get the roof off

Jon,I just think you're nervous about running your well prepared 500 Chim against an SC 400 Chim.
Chas
Would be good to run against you actually. Be interesting. Not sure what my engine is putting out at the moment.
I may have a few runs, but i think my clutch is on it's way. Not great for drag racing

Excuse my lazyness at not trawling google for this but......
How much does this knacker your car - clutch etc??
Do you need insurance? Are you likely to actually crash into anything?
Might be interested in taking my Tuscan - will have to check the date does not clash with anything.
I think the amount of runs we will be looking at doing will have a negligable effect on the clutch, unless its on the way out already How much does this knacker your car - clutch etc??

Maybe ask DBV8 how his clutch is doing since he runs his car quite a lot.
And you will only crash if you can't keep your car in a straight line
Did someone mention me?
I should have my clutch out at the weekend so i will let you know how it is.
I fitted a John Eales 500lb/ft clutch a year ago and covered about 5000 miles and probably about 100 1/4 mile runs with sticky tyres and nitrous.
I dont expect to see excessive wear on the clutch but will post a pic or 2 if you like.
As far as wear and tear on tyres, clutch, gearbox, etc is concerned i think its more down to the drivers technique more than anything else.
Turn up, have a go, have another go, lower your rear tyre pressures, have another go, lower the pressures some more, give it some more beans off the line without wheelspin, set an impressive time, have another few go's then go home and order some decent rear tyres and possibly a nitrous oxide kit ready for the next time.
But most of all have fun (which you will).
