Hi all,

Right this is quite late post, but I have been in touch with a few parties and I am organising an annual performance event. Regardless of tune, its for fun primarily and also willy waving (as thats hillarious).... The type of event is yet to be polled upon, ie. strip only, trackday only, trackday + top speed runs etc... The other parties are well accustomed to all the rules and requirements to organise such days, but the format of the event is upto US! smile

If everyone can vote, then I can get an idea of what we need to look at, at then we can take it from there...

This is the real thing, and hopefully the venue will NOT have some silly decibals limit so dont worry if you're peaking 130dbs, though I'd be amazed you can still hear! hehe

The format of the event will be non-tuner biased, although we will discuss the format and agree on how tuners can also make use of the event, the more fumes the better... as every TVR owner knows, the Cerbera fold are the 3 headed dogs from hell and we love action...

Right, its all down to you chaps, I will make it happen. But I need an idea of what you chaps are interested in, so bang up your feelings and suggestions and lets debate this... the idea is to make it a revival of what Cream did for us a few years back on the cerbera's anniversary, but also to take it to the next level.

This sounds similar to Fighting Torque, which i don't believe had a great turn out this year, but i think i remember someone posting that they were boycotting it due to the attitude of the organisers last year, (but thats only something i read, never been myself)

I'd go for all vehicles, just to ensure a good turn out. You have to include the Cerbs with the new Yanky engines, just so we all gat a chance to see em in action.

And TVR's, especially the older ones are about speed in a line, not so much around corners. How about standing 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile & then the full mile?

I'd like to see a track type thing with lap times, kinda sprint or time attack format, as throwing in some corners would make a change, not fussed what turns up, but we all would get a sound thrashing if the 10 of the best crowd turned up! So at least a TVR based class would be more competitive.

Sorry Al but this sort of statement really does anoy me. A well setup TVR will go round corners as well as, if not better than, all road cars.

It will be interesting to see what you come up with Ash.

Sounds good, a track day would be better as it firstly gives attendees more time on track as opposed to waiting for drag strip runs and secondly I think a TVR set up correctly goes around corners fantastically well. It would be my first event with the cerb, where you thinking of holding this Ash?

I don't disagree, just thought introducing corners brings a lot of driver skill into it, if the idea is to see who's beast is pushing out the most power, straight lines is the fairest test, and a few different distances may chuck up some interesting results wink

Somthing with corners would be fun. Quite like the idea of some straight line stuff aswell.

Either way i would be fully supportive of such an event.

How about Bruntingthorpe .. I enquired a a few years ago ..

They said it's OK to have a car meet in the car park and to hire the track for either 1/2 or a full day.

What about a disused airfield? Then you can do drag runs down the strip say in the morning, and then set up a sprint or time attack course in the afternoon. Plus with a airfield track you don't generally have to worry about bending your P&J on some barriers!

What about a decent hill climb?

Not too long thus not too stressful on the cars, bit of corner action, somewhere with nice surroundings for a yarn picnic with the family?

Make a day of it?

I vote all TVRs

I would be interested in a track day but preferably TVR only

Being an outsider, I would echo Brummmies suggestion, something where we could do some sprint time attacks, straight line and maybe some track action would.

It would be good for the event to be TVR only, but allow for TVRs that don't have engines. Also would be nice if there number of entries wasn't too limited.

My vote goes to this this option.

Whatever I'm up for it.

I missed the fighting Torque as I was under the impression it was for Griffs only (wrong I know), but lack of advertising was the real problem.

Ash
Any chance of getting one of those portable dynos there?
Will help with the Willy waggling contest!

But on a serious note, a good 1/4 run with less power/weight could result in some interesting comments???

I've always wanted to replicate that TG standing start 1 mile run!! Any chance?

Hi Ash, long time no hear!

Cream was great and have been longing for such an event again. I'm baised to the Cerb only thing as it'll be unique like Cream rather than just another gathering of TVR's.

Track day with additional high speed strip would be good, again like Cream. Would prefer it to be on a proper track though rather than an airfield.

Anyway, just a few of my thoughts for the time being.
