Herts n Beds to Cheddar Gorge
Discussion
That's enough for me... I'll send around email confirming its a goer to all who have confirmed interest..... and a further one to Herts n Beds members....
It will be on dates mentioned, and will relying on people booking their own hotel space..... if there are more then hotel can accomodate I have an idea for overflow.
Never done one of these before so all ideas welcome

I quite fancy this - thanks for floating the idea.
Just a thought - might be worth asking the hotel for a group discount on those dates.
What's the worst that could happen - they can only say no, or fk off, or something like that.
when I spoke with the Hotel, the discount offered was off the published rates, and was the same as the rates I found on the other site...... also hard to negotiate when no firm numbers.Just a thought - might be worth asking the hotel for a group discount on those dates.

The problem I had was most the accomodation round that way are farm B&B/Guest houses which adverstise themselves on peace & tranquilty so I didn't think they would be to TVR freindly. My favourite place looked fantastic until I started reaing it's "green" credentials.. solar powered heated water, bedding dried naturally etc.... I could just imagine the lecture at breakfast

TVR Hants have done a couple of cheesy gatherings in Chedddar and stayed in a several hotels at the bottom of the Gorge.Might be worth getting in touch with their RO for Hotels.Go past there every week but can't think of the name of the main one they stayed at! Don't forget aswell as the Gorge and caves you got Wookey Hole Caves,Wells Cathedral,Haynes motor museum,Longleat,Chew Valley lakes and the Tor at Glastonbury amongst our local delights.Miss Pitstop is half of Bristol TVRCC,s RO and probably has some local routes on her PC,But if you get stuck I can give you some road numbers and things to help you along.
