Come back with me to a golden time when the Cup Final was on both main channels.

Got tired of one set of pundits and commentators? Switch over.

Both channels seemed to do a big atmospheric build up.

What's on the BBC this morning?

Some fking ponce who looks like he should be on some sort of Police Register tasting lamb and vegetables.

What a fking joke.

biggrin I just started a related thread on this myself, bloody poor but it's the FA's fault for devaluing their own tournament by loading up the rewards for Premiership survival. Guardian today notes that Stoke or Man C will pick up £1.8m for winning the FA Cup, which is the difference between finishing 15th and 17th in the Prem.

It was also on ESPN. But not much to chose in quality with either ITV or ESPN.

The FA Cup is now on an exclusive deal system so only one UK terrestrial channel can show it in any given year.

I don't understand why we'd need it to two channels at the same time anyway, theres enough football on all the time as it is.

Is there? When was the last live game on terrestrial TV?

There are quite a few actually - internationals, Champions League, Champiosnhip, FA Cup. etc.

It's pnly the Premiership that is not live on terrestrial.

There is probably more horse racing, and motorsport on terrestrial TV than football.

I agree. You can only watch one channel at a time, don't clog up different channels with the same stuffbiggrin
