Paul Walker. I couldn't get past the first 15 mins of the film "Blue (something-or-other)" because of his abysmal acting, despite the actress in it being a bikini-clad Jessica Alba. He makes me want to hurt small animals.
Reminds me of the excellent saying "i'm as confused as Paul Walker in a library"

Arnie
Stallone
Seagal
(Car chases, shooting people and blowing things up do not require any acting ability whatsoever)

John Wayne - pure teak. The only film of his I can watch is the one where he has the fight with Lee Marvin.

Steve Martin (except Planes Trains etc, liked him in that for some reason)

Jim Carrey (but liked him in Truman, Man in the Moon and Spotless Mind)

And for the ladies, Meryl Streep.
I know she's meant to be good but I can't see it; she only has two expressions - one that looks as if she's about to start crying, the other as if she's just stopped.

Paul Walker is saved though just by being..."PAUL WALKER!" You can only say his name in trailer man action film shouty style. This gets him cool points.

A main contender has been mentioned in the last cpl of pages though...Hayden fooking Christiansen. Good grief he is shyte.

The outstanding by a country mile number 1 nominee though can only go to one man. One man so wooden, so uniformally crap that literally is no excuse to allow him to carry on consuming oxygen. I give you the capo di capo of culprits...Clive Owen.

To be fair that film was awful in almost every way.

I thought he was ok in 'Running Scared'.

He can actually put in a good performance, such as in Children of Men. Schwarzenneger, although he was a crap actor, was in too many good films.

My votes would go to Nicholas Cage and Keanu Reeves.

Adam Sandler. I refuse to elaborate further.
I've only seen him in Punch Drunk Love, in which he plays his character well IMO.

Highlander didn't have any Lithuanians in it IIRC confused

Anyhow, Cruise never, ever strikes me as anything other than "I know people, right!" A walking piece of 1x2 with a copy of Dianetics and a Men's Health subscription confirmation nailed to it.

The man's range was tremendous! Pout. Grin. Sarcastic comment. Fire 15 rounds into bad guy using Armalite while pouting. Sarcastic comment. Repeat.

The diversity of characters he played was particularly noticeable. Serving SAS in Who Dares Wins. Ex-SAS in The Professionals. Ex-SAS mercenary in Commando Leopard. How he missed getting a role in The Piano is an ongoing mystery.

I've still got all 4 Professionals DVD boxsets though...

After seeing some of Karate Kid II at the weekend, it is without any shadow of a doubt, Ralph Macchio. The log that Mr. Miyagi split with his bare hand was Sir John Gielgud compared to him.

For all the people saying Stallone watch Rocky 1, Copland and some of his other lesser known stuff that doesn't involve explosions. He can act.

My vote goes for the guy from Circle of Pain. Watched it at the weekend and could not believe how bad he is.

Although I net any of those 99p action films in tesco have much worse acting then anyone anyone has mentioned on this thread.

It's difficult to forgive Reeves for Dracula, but he didn't spoil the Matrix (pity they never made a sequel - it could even have made a great trilogy).

Hayden Christiansen, on the other hand, was unbelievably awful in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Every line felt like chalk squeaking on a blackboard.

Charisma and screen presence in bucket loads but acting? not so much, very rare that he changed the expression on his face at all.

The important bit is he never looked like he was acting, and that in itself is enough to disqualify him from this thread.

That and the fact that he's actually a brilliant actor.
