Starting tonight 21:00 BBC Three, looks like its going to be a good watch! follows the troops out on operation in Afghanistan via helmet cameras and mic's! should give it a more troops eye view and involvement!
Some incredible footage on there. Fairplay to anyone who signs up and maximum respect, i know i couldn't do it. The BBC documentary following the Chinook aircrew, which included more footage of the evacuation than shown in Our War, can be found in 5 parts on youtube.

and still we bring these young men back in coffins. it's not right on any level.
I get so frustrated at work dealing with people who give nothing to society but sit around all day every day on benefits, whingeing about their "rights".Seeing young lads like these, doing what they do, makes you realise the gulf that exists between those that give and those that take.
Total respect to each and every one of those soldiers.
Forgot to make a topic about this earlier as i've known about this series for a while.
Gripping, emotional stuff. Really gives you an insight into what the armed forces have to go through in a war zone. My fiancee and I had tears in our eyes after watching it.
I have a lot of respect for anyone who serves in the forces. As has been mentioned above, it puts things into perspective when you look at the society we live in in the UK.

Enjoying the programme would not be the right phrase, but I was gripped with huge respect for these boys.
Looking at the photos and interviews I'm thinking feck, I'm old (34).
What was coming across in some footage was initially they appear a mix of a bit laid back, jokey nerves, and not 100% on the ball. eg: a reminder earlier for the tail end boys to actually stay alert and guard the tail. Also after the man down, one boy reminded to keep the rifle and eyes up and properly watch the corner.
But overall what comes across is the training did kick in and they got the job done professionally in what must have been a terrifying first contact for many.
I only know one guy out there but seeing the real thing from a camera in the middle means I've even greater respect for him and his mates.

Now that is what I call quality TV, really enjoyed that. My heart goes out to the families, respect. A bit surprised it went out on BBC3, would love to know the thinking behind that.
There was a piece about it on the local news last night. Apparently it went out because the parents of the fallen wanted to see what happened.Didn't get chance to watch it but will be watching it later.
