Also, it seems like they make every excuse near the beginning to look down Emma Watson's top...

Was at the printworks in Manchester last night in the IMAX (for transformers I'll have you know)

Loads of wannabe hogwarts students running around waiting for the midnight showings - Of course the IMAX dies in the middle of our film - dont know if they got it going for the 00.01 showing of Hairy Pitta ??

Anyone there?

Simes.

I watched it last night - really enjoyed it - better than the first part.

Overall I think they did justice to the book, although the final battle between HP & Voldemort was a bit weak, it was great & am looking forward to getting it on DVD when it comes out.

I don't think 3D would add to the film to be honest.

Took my daughter to see it this evening - she's been counting the days till it came out. She loved it as did most of the other kids in the cinema. I quite enjoyed it although I did find myself checking my watch a few times to see how much longer it was going on for. I'm not too sure about the 3D, still seems a bit gimicky to me.

There were several comical moments that I suspect weren't meant to be comical and, if you're taking your kids to see it then be warned that there may be tears.

Overall not a bad film and certainly much better than the last one.

I think it did.

The first film I've seen in 3D and I was quite impressed.

What impressed me more was how good the film was in line with the book, I mean, It's never going to be perfect.

Was a good ending, but a shame to see it all finish.

Just dont get it at all. Not at all. He is a child who can defeat an adult. How often does that ever happen? Its a childrens story to make kids feel better. Nothing more.
I'm not a fan of the Harry Potter series (I've not seen, or read any of them as it happens), but your argument is flawed as far as cinematic (or even theatrical) premises go.

It's a common conceit that the underdog wins. See Die Hard. See Star Wars. See Indiana Jones. See just about an adversarial film that you care to mention.

One person vs "evil" or "bad" : the hero wins.

It's entertainment and willing suspension of disbelief (at the risk of going all Blackadder Goes Forth)

SWMBO has been a massive fan, so have always seen the films, and thoroughly enjoyed them
So off we went last night to see Pt2 at the Printworks in M/C
And as a film it was superb! By far the strongest of the series.

Made my first visit to BFI IMAX (Largest screen in UK 20m X 26m - superb single screen cinema in the middle of a roundabout!)

Ended up seeing at 3am laugh as was all booked out, had great central rear seats so was worth it.

3D was pretty good, a few scenes didn't work though. Really great film, didn't get all the in-jokes as haven't seen most of them.

Went and watched it last night with the gf. Had to book tickets to the over 18s and it was incredible to see the cinema fully packed. Film was pretty good, sad to see it end though.

The wife and I went on Sunday night, it was very good, the best of the lot. It was on in 5 screens, 2 in 3D and 3 in standard. We went for the 3D. I dunno, you just felt you would miss the extra experience if you didn't, but I don't really think it needed it. In fact it might have distracted a bit. Plus, I think it's a bit of a rip charging 3 quid more for the privelage. How the hell do you spell that word cos that ain't right smile

Really enjoyed, best of the lot, although the 3D added very little for me, couple of scenes where it benefited.

Just back from seeing it this afternoon.
Really enjoyed it but jeeze, you would be fairly lost unless you had seen the previous couple or dipped into the books. I also thought the Potter / Voldemort finale was staged better in the book than the film. All good stuff tho.

Read all the books and seen all the films.

I thought it dropped off a bit in the final hour when the main battle started - just dragged on a little too much.

I have found normal 3D adds a little depth but is not in the same league as IMAX 3D. I might just stick to normal 2D.
