They are probably still doing the post production to give the effect desired of the suit illumination etc.
Those scenes may even have been filmed with different actors/body doubles.

meh, I hope it's not pretty boy and girl actors just to give the film box-office appeal, one of the reasons the original Alien works is the crew look realistic- not a looker amongst them, unless you count Ripley. I usually avoid films where the leads are too hollywood good-looking with perfect white teeth, I'd much rather watch a unknown normal-looking actor.

Quite. Has Scott merely turned into a hack shilling out trash for the suits?biggrin
The FF quip made me smile.

Does this film have anything to do with the Alien saga? I've not been following its production.

Comment from someone who purports to know a little about these photos and in particular his comment on the 1st picture in my post, the one with all 3 of them looking ahead with torches...

"commits the sin of having actors faces Photoshop manipulated to the degree that it looks like someone just cut out faces from a magazine and stuck them on other people’s bodies. We are nearing the year 2012 and with the amount of money studios like Fox put into making these damn movies, you would think they would spend a few more dollars to make the all important early promotional work come across better than this?"

Fair comment I suppose. The insinuation is that these are effectively faked or at the very least manipulated beyond what we'll actually see on-screen.
I guess if like the original films it's 90% filmed in darkness, it won't actually matter so much what they are wearing.

I'm hoping it will be a fitting prequel.

The endless remakes, reboots and general crappiness of cinema in recent years has left be a bit disinterested in new films. By the looks of these images the trend continues.

I read on some film website that the first trailer is expected to be released around Christmas time - that'll be a more significant insight, obviously.

The trailer seems to set the right mood, not sure about some of the other things, a giant human face, or metal egg capsules.

Could'nt really make out too much from that but...the 'feel' of it seemed to be what I'd expect.

Certainly more in line with what I'd expect than the pictures I posted.

Looking at the background, it looks like Ridley has the style right, in the sense that it looks very 70's Sci-fi, which fits in with the other films.

It doesn't look like it will fall into the trap a lot of films do where there's a modern prequel to an old film, and everything looks much better than it did in the originals.

Now thats been leaked I would imagine we'll get the offical release. It was rumoured that it was going to be attached to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
I'm wondering if that was sort of 'officially leaked' in order to counteract the very negative reaction to the stills released last week?

Whatever, ignore what I said up there^^^^^^ That looks awesome!

Can't wait to see that trailer properly, it certainly looks like it is following the 'feel' of Alien though which can't be a bad thing. My only worry is that Ridley has produced some truly dire films recently, I'm hoping this is his return to form.
