Yeah, if you think CSI is a documentary biggrin
No I don't, but you'll be very hard pressed to find any CRTs now in an office (or car) let alone in 2019. And the famous sequence with Deckard zooming in on the photo is agonizingly slow compared to any halfway decent laptop in 2000. The only advanced bit is that the photo is more of a hologram because he can do 3d rotation but with a nintendo 3ds sporting a halfway decent 3d camera these days, that technology being available in 2019 isn't overly shocking to either. And what's all that faffing around with the crappy webcam and the bellows?

As to not enough whizz-bangs etc. to keep the MTV generation interested, well I guess you are right, it is me that changed and not the movies obviously. But even without explosive action, some of the old movies seem very "slow". I re-watched one of my all-time favourites, The Blues Brothers, recently and even though most jokes are still hilarious, the time between them seems overly long and I surely didn't think that when I saw it first in the cinema. Which is a bit of a pity really, and for me a fair warning against rewatching old favourites - you may be disappointed...
