Well, aside from having to defy the laws of physics, it's a pretty well known viral marketing campaign, having been out there for a good couple of years now.
Ah well, I was amazed because it was on Ooops Tv which is a "you've been framed" type of show so I didn't know that they would play virals/fake videos on there.Live and learn.

Can someone explain the viral marketing concept. I really don't get it.If i saw a video of a hot girl eating a mars bar seductivly, i would be straight out to buy a mars bar.
But seeing a plane with a wing fall off, whats it advertising? It doesnt make me want to go in that plane, and i dont want to buy a mars bar. Whats it all about?
Basically someone will email their buddies "OMFG dude you need to see this its teh best!", then whoever receives the email does the same thing and so on - it goes on twitter, facebook etc..
Spreads like a virus, going from person to person.
Its to do with the way with the way people get to see it, not the actual content

To get a moving image on telly using normal commercial means costs money. A lot of it! You have production costs and the cost of media (airtime). Plus, although the media reaches a lot of people, it is limited and there are strict rules over what can and can't be included.Viral marketing allows companies / brands to develop a moving messages (adverts, in English!), free of the constraints over content and are so able to use a theme more shocking / attention grabbing than would otherwise be the case.
This is then stuck on You Tube or wherever and people driven to the vid via emails, Facebook, etc. The more who see it, the more post links, even more people see it, and so it goes on.
The only cost has been production but good virals can reach more people than could be achieved through traditional means.
HTH
Ok that all makes sense but what is the above

To be fair, it's pretty believable to begin with (thanks to the overlaid engine soundtrack).
Then, on landing, it is patently obvious that it's an RC model
(models can manage it as power to weight ratio is so huge)

There is a real video of a RC plane doing the same manoeuvre though.
