A vast amount of "scary" films are about things that don't exist at all...

Yes. The Simpsons 'homage' to him was called Troy.biggrin

Hello, I'm Troy McClure! You might remember me from such celebrity funerals as "Andre The Giant, We Hardly Knew Ye" and "Shemp Howard: Today We Mourn A Stooge."

Not seen that one.

I remember Doug McLure as Trampas in The Virginian.

Tim Burton was planning to make a film based on these trading cards - he needs to resurrect the idea and in 10 years you can sit the OH down to watch it:

GF hates dinosaur films, they scare her. So what film might I surprise her with - I'm not aware of much other than the JP films. Cloverfield type flicks might count, we enjoyed that together. Any suggestions? Not that JP was scary, but... The scarier the better. Anything to put a bit of mustard up her bum when we sit down to watch it smile ?
Colman's english.

The only one that comes to mind is the 2005 King Kong that was a bit dire, the bit where they get eaten by the massive maggoty things is pretty gross.
