Well, I found ten possible alternatives to a dinosaur film.
Its worth watching all the way through, to see the terrifying "Giant Claw" in action - which is "like a battleship"

Made all the more terrifying by the (then) terrifyingly realistic prospect of running away from something so big in 3D for the first time!

Way back in 1961 me and a friend (aged 7 and 6) were taken by our mums to see 'Reptilicus'.

Part of a reptile found in ice, taken back to lab where it grows into a dinosaur - which escapes and causes mayhem.

Probably comically awful by today's standards, but it scared the crap out of me at the time!

I actually meant the 1975 (imdb 5.5) version, didn't know it had been remade.
