I gave it 10 minutes then gave up. Cost £3.9M to make, took £7,900 first showing!

I made the schoolboy error of watching this based on the recommendations from all of the papers at the weekend.

What a shower of ste that was!

I then noticed that it was by Stephen Poliakoff which explained why - that man is a byword for pretentious BBC media luvvy arse-kissing twaddle. All paid for by us licence-fee payers.

^^^this.

Lasted 10 minutes, saw it basically like a lot of British made "luvvie" dramas and gave up. Why they think that anyone would be interested in the fictional lives of people who had massive financial advantages & are seen enjoying the time of their lives before the war but then there is always a 'dark secret' that makes their lives miserable, as they look back at their themselves from the present day.

See also The Camomile Lawn. But at least that had boobies....lots of boobies.

Was a bit drawn out. At least it had the lovely Romola Garai to look at in it.
