If you found the subject of the film of interest then consider the following:
I watched this film only the other week - It was laughable, I had to switch it off after the second time we witnessed the German pilots laughing inanely as they strafed the hapless Russians – It was like watching a propaganda movie from the ‘50’s.

Parts of it may have been more ‘historically accurate’, but the acting was laughably inept, the Russians portrayed as being good, and the Germans like some pantomime villain in its simplest term.

ETA - have to hold my hands up and say I got the film wrong. the film I saw was "Attack On Leningrad", and NOT Stalingrad.

Wonder if they will ever make a film on the white death instead, that would be a good one to watch.

Can't believe that German Officer Sniper fell for it again at the end.

Oh and was that the lad from 'My Family' hanging from a lamp post?

I'm facinated by the subject matter but I dont rate this film very highly. The production design is excellent it has to be said, but the acting and script is dire. Apparently Stalingrad veterans hate this film too.
