Saw this advertised the other day:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1772240/

Apparently it's a bit like Paranormal Activity on the moon. Not sure whether or not i'll go and watch it.

There was a real Apollo 18. Although unofficial, the Apollo spacecraft used in teh 1975 Apollo - Soyuz mission was sometimes referred to as Apollo 18.

I fancy seeing this too. It was meant to come out earlier this year and then got pushed back to early 2012 and then has been bought forward to September for whatever reason.

I've been looking forward to this, but I think it might be a disappointment.

Well, saw this last sunday evening, and you are right it was a disappointment, for me at least.

Only about 10 people in the cinema, so that was probably a good indication!

I can't stand all that jerky camera action which was supposed to be a hand held cam. What, with that and the "transmitted footage", it gave me a headache.

BTW, I wouldn't mind betting the idea came from Pirates of the Carribean, where rocks turned into crabs smile

The idea was interesting, but they messed it up, and it wasn't all that good.

I thought it worked well. The footage looked like the footage that was brought back from the moon so had an authentic sort of feel. On that score, it was well done.

ever wondered why the Apollo missions were cancelled a very short time before "Star wars" came out?? THINK ABOUT IT!

For DuPont

Well, a 'secret' appollo mission to put some transmitters/radar thingies on the moon... Away they go, get there. They go on an explore, and they find a Russian craft, complete with dead cosmonaut in one of the shadowed craters. After repeated problems with transmission, things start going a bit odd. Flag goes missing, Nathan gets injured by something in his suit, and it gets infected, and makes him a bit strange. There are little critters on the moon! Aaargh, and those pesky DOD folks knew.
"Can we come home now?"
"Sorry, not now you're contaminated, and all that. Sorry."
"Damn"

Five years. In fact, the decision to shorten the programme was 6 years before Star Wars came out.
