"Ultimate Force" perhaps?
That was before 'The Unit', hence my question. Can't think of any others after except for Strike back.

Yeah mate was thinking 'Strike Back' watched the first one of season two and kinda enjoyed it but thought there was a fair whiff off cheese about it, limited budget too, will persevere with it for a few more episodes tho.

Cheers guys, I enjoyed 24 but have only seen the 1 series. Prison break was great, seen some of the shield and the sopranos. I can see a monster DVD shopping session coming on and a projector upgrade biggrin

The good wife, legal darma stuff, two series in and the third starting in the US next month.

Wikipedia says;
The series focuses on Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies), whose husband Peter Florrick (Chris Noth), a former Cook County state's attorney, has been jailed following a very public sex and corruption scandal. Alicia returns to her old job as a litigator (after taking years out to be a mother) to provide for her two children. The series was partly inspired by the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal, as well as by other prominent American political sex scandals, particularly those of John Edwards and Bill Clinton

Further endorsement for Battlestar Galactica. Not what I expected at all, and all the better for it.
Currently getting stuck into Mad Men and enjoying it so far.
Just finished The Killing (Danish version), which was fantastic, best thing I've seen in ages.
Also, Band of Brothers.

I've just finished watching the box set of 'Teachers'... Was only vaguely aware of it when it was first on, but found it for a fiver in Sainsbury's a couple of months ago and it's kept me entertained ever since!

I don't, thought ended very well, but I do prefer the alternate ending.

Bird of Prey (TV serial) looks good.

I like some of the above mentioned. What I look for in a serial is the overriding story arc. Programmes that can be taken as stand alone stories and resolved within the hour, or two parters are boring for me, I want a lengthy epic I can loose myself in. I also like good acting and intrigue. Something that might require multiple visits. Some of the stuff mentioned above just seems like action oriented stuff from the quick look on Sky.

I'll restrict myself to quality drama for the moment (some of these are quite small and basically mini-series), though no doubt will leave something off.
  • Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; perhaps the best serial ever? Great acting and it's got Alec Guinness and packed with real espionage
  • First Born;one of the best sci-fi programmes we have made imo.
  • Downton Abbey;repressed tight-arse English house made interesting
  • Justified;a step above most Yank cop shows
  • Damages;best law drama I have seen, intricate plot
  • BSG;one of the best sci-fi shows, it's acting and story lift it above the usual sci-fi dross
  • Carnivàle;just started watching this with the knowledge it goes nowhere (for the moment), it is as slow as treacle but very rich in it's design.
  • Reilly, Ace of Spies;one of the best spy stories from the 80s, Neill is always watchable.
  • Jack the Ripper;Michael Caine in an ace mini series
  • Smiley's People;Sublime follow up to TTSS.
  • Black Widows;gritty bank job from the 80s, I remember this as being no nonsense type affair, not like the glammy st you get now
  • The Wire;Started watching this first time on fx this year, am hooked, well written and acted, gonna watch this till the end.biggrin
  • Natural Lies;Bob Peck, as good as the legendary Hearts of Darkness I recall.
  • Mad Man;only seen one series of this but watched them all on a Saturday it was that good.
  • The Borgias; This has just started, and full of intrigues and plotting, another rich historical drama full of daggersbiggrin
  • The Pillars of the Earth;another historical drama with top acting
  • Zen;witty Italian cop drama that the BBC binned after three eps....idiots~biggrin
  • Game of Thrones;medieval-fantasy romp, only one series but so good that it is already in my top 5. Best thing for years.
  • A Very British Coup;more British 80s espionage, nobody does it better.
  • The Sopranos; One of the best shows of the past 15 years, kicked off the American luxury serial boom.
  • Boys From The Blackstuff;top drama from the 80s, English and gritty
  • Edge Of Darkness, Bob Peck and Joe Don Baker, film quality acting in a series.
  • The Singing Detective;;bizarre journey into one man's childhood.
  • Spatacus;Gods of the Arena and Blood and Sand, stylish sex and violence
  • Perfect Strangers;Stephen Poliakoff mini-series
  • Human Trafficking;Donald Sutherland/Robert Carlye mini series, good
  • House Of Cards;more top political intrigue
  • Traffik/Traffic;UK and US versions of drug smuggling, both good
  • Auf Wiedersehen Pet;One of the best comedy-dramas for me
  • The State Within;recent conspiracy British political/spy thing
  • Boardwalk EMpire;rich prohibition era gangster thing aboot the lesser looked at Atlantic city.
  • Nurse Jackie;drug addicted nurse, good~biggrin
  • Big Love;aboot Mormon lifestyle, Bill Paxton, more interesting than I first thought.

Chimera it was... Little ugly fker in a Freddy Kreuger jumper. Great, and quite bloody scary show. Only a 2 or 3 parter if I remember.
