In DOND the contents of the box is pure chance and nothing else. Except the odd occassion when someone gets a gut feel for the contents, but it's exactly that, only a gut feeling, so yes it's chance.
Once each offer is made you then have to work out what's left in the game, what the offer is, and whether it's worth it carrying on. So isn't chance, but a skill. I will admit that not many know how to play it properly.
or they could just look at what's left on the big screen, no?Once each offer is made you then have to work out what's left in the game, what the offer is, and whether it's worth it carrying on. So isn't chance, but a skill. I will admit that not many know how to play it properly.

My mum watched it and, bless her, told me it was live. Oh, really I asked? So you mean they went to all the 1000 contestants homes and made a little film about each of them just so they could show the films for the few surviving towards the end? Or was it more likely a setup from the beginning?

The bankers off will be somewhere middling between the highest and lowest.
It's 50/50 to have a red or a blue box.
If yer first 3 rounds remove all the blues bar one, it's still 50/50 because those were the odds when the selection was made.
They don't change throughout the whole game.
My father is a pain in the arse for saying, "oh well the odds are he has a red one"....Noooooo no they arn't, they're 50/50.
(Unless all the blue ones have gone obviously)

Yes, but you have to weigh up what's left unopened against what the banker is offering and choose your time to get out. In this respect it is not a game of pure chance alone, like RoB.
right, so you're not taking a chance that what's left is better than what the banker is offering?I think people are confusing 'greed' with 'skill'. "No Mr Banker, I won't take your £30,000 offer.... aw st... I crapped out and I'm going home with a quid"

Hmm, this show just got a little better (mind this is the first time I've seen it.....)... JB and DC playing curling with Karts..
Why on earth did they agree to do this? cannot blame it on sponsor duty either as for once they have no logo's on them. Head and shoulders and now this?The_Doc said:
As with Deal or No Deal, I'd love to sit everyone down at the start and explain to them, painfully slowly, that we could just pull a name from a hat and give that person 1 million and it would be the same result.
I'd do this in a room, with me holding some form of automatic rifle, and nobody would be allowed to leave until they both understood the concept of random, and explained it back to me.
Then I'd take SC hostage and force him to change the show so that we did just this, he'd be allowed one ad break, but the whole show would last perhaps 7 minutes.

Il Divo is an operatic pop vocal group created by music manager, executive, and reality TV star Simon Cowell. Formed in the United Kingdom, they are also signed to Cowell's record label, Syco Music.
Wow what a conincidence, I bet the show bookers couldn't believe it when they accidently booked one of their boss's acts who also have a new single out soon. What are the chances. Edited by JAM35F on Monday 5th September 21:52
