Seconded. What about that thing where people raced rally cars against the clock up a dirt road on some mountain in the UK somewhere? It was a it like a mini Pike's Peak. There was also a version with motocross bikes.

Actually, now I come to think about it - I think that was just something that came on Grandstand a few times. paperbag
No!

I remember that too!

IIRC they has Honda Pilot type vehicles and were timed up a dirt farm track.

There was a 6 part series in the mid 90s IIRC which featured 6 rally drivers, and each week they drove another persons usual car and then totalled the times up. It's main aim was to have complete camera coverage along the full length of the track and from inside the car.

I liked the remake of Hawaii 5-0, its not complicated, its easy entertainment. Plus anything that gets Grace Park more air time is good with me.

The Unit was excellent as well, I always thought of it as a reboot of the A-Team crossed with a bit of Desperate Housewives. The women did annoy me and I confess I did imagine Snake Doctor slotting his wife quite often!

Wasnt one of the people from the Unit in Firefly? Summer Glau? For a few episodes anyway.
The trouble is Summer Glau is the kiss of death for just about everything that she has been in. Terminator:Sarah Conner Chronicles, Firefly, Dollhouse, The Cape (though that is st) etc.

Didn't they try to bring back Superstars a few years ago?

What about a decent (i.e. NOT Red & Black or whatever the fk it is) Saturday nigh gameshow along the lines of 3-2-1.

Vegas (The one with Dan Tanner)
Manimal
Airwolf (or Blue Thunder if funds are tight biggrin)
The Adventure Game (gronda gronda)
There's been two attempts at Superstars. First the BBC, and then Channel 5 tried again.

'The Professionals'... Keep the feel of the original, and have it similar to a mix of Spooks, and Strikeback...
'The Equaliser' ......... Brilliant show, but I re kong with the right actor, it could be pulled off.
'Bonanza'.................. Like Deadwood, but without the word .

Anymore for any more?
Callan.

edit.
Some good ones mentioned here, I agree with;
The Adventure Game
Rockford Files
Saphire & Steel
The Fall Guy

and will add

Simon and Simon
The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Greatest American Hero - don't think you got that in the UK, used to love it as a kid. Regular guy finds superhero suit, puts it on and has superhero powers! Every kids dream.
Yeh we had that, enjoyed that as a kid. Along with Airwolf and STreetHawk.

Telly has changed a lot since the 80s. American telly has grown up and improved, Brit telly has lost it's edge and gone a little wky. Taking an old American show and beefing it up would work, as themes/memes are grittier now. Like BSG.

Wasn't overly obvious at first. I thought a mental had been let loose.

Not necessarily a remake but I'd love to see a new final series of Quantum Leap.

I think the rallying program was called 'The Mobile 1 Rally Challenge'.

The Sweeney is being done...I don't see why, the main characters would be normal for the first episode, and then the rest of the series in a tribunal or on suspension.biggrin

He wont, I think you will find he got killed because Joss Weedon hated the actor, or so I read. Apparently the actor was very annoying to work with and thought he was amazing, so he got killed!
Not heard that before - and if he hated him so much then it's somewhat suprising that he cast him in Dollhouse then!

Fatty Owls would have to have a genius cast to make it work. Who could possibly take that role??
Several Cybill possibilities, but The Major, Manuel and Basil would be very, very difficult to get right and likely to upset us oldies.

They have tried to remake Fawlty Towers three times I think, all sucked. There is no point on recreating perfection (or as near as it can be), you should remake the crappy/dodgy ones that never really concluded themselves, BSG being a really good example of taking some ham and turning it into a delicious steak.

An update that isn't out of time with current mems is also good. That's why The Sweeney woyuldn't work now methinks.

I've recently been watching Jeeves and Wooster, I would like to see a new version of this made and perhaps set in the fifties or sixties.

You mean, rather than a faithful adaptation of the books, you'd like them to be shifted in time and be either total anachronisms or else totally different and therefore not Jeeves and Wooster? confused
