Smoking ?

Just in the middle of watching 'The Hour' lots of smoking going on....just wondered how non smoking actors get on?

I seem to recall one of the cast of 'Life on Mars' and 'Ashes to Ashes' was/in a keen long distance runner who'd never smoked a day in his life saying they used herbal cigs and whilst they all seemed to be constantly smoking, for the most part they just held them in their hands rather than actually smoked them.
