C4 - Shoot to Kill - Osama Bin Laden 07/09/11

I watched, thought it was OK, the bit near the end about them obeying Muslim burial practices was a bit far fetched though. Can't see them bothering mainly because they didn't need to.
The helicopter crashing due to backwash or whatever the correct term was had to be embarrassing. All the intel they had on the compound yet they didn't realize the enclosed high walls being an issue.

Good show, better on 4HD!

The crash was due to the difference in temperature (and hence air density) inside and outside the wall. The helicopter has to work harder to achieve lift in low density air. To be fair, I think they knew landing a helicopter near a high wall would always be difficult and risky but that's their job! With all that going on at the time I can hardly believe they "tied the kids up out of the way" I reckon they just shot whatever came in front of them kid woman or man!
The whole point of not involving the Pak gov was that they think the ISI is involved with the Al Queeda and Laden would have fled.
The end was also a bit too much I really doubt they did what they showed to his body..

Really enjoyed this too, especially the way the journalists were kept out of the picture (mutliple pizza delivery companies, cars parked in different places, etc), and the goings on at the White House Correspondents ball.
The fact they interviewed Obama added a lot of credibility to the programme. Having to write "The President of the United States of America" below has name everytime it was flash up was peculiar. You got the impression the Go/No Go decision really was with him and was in no way black and white.
Not sure about the bloke with the big lower face and the beard. He spoke of details that only someone involved in such operations would know, yet he looks like a man who the closest to war he has got is by watching The Dambusters.

Meh....
Wasn't a patch on 'Commando'.
These sort of programs really need Arnie and his cheesy one-liners
Seriously though, a very enjoyable watch.

As others have said, found it interesting.
TBH I watched primarilly to see how Obama came across, expecting some form of gung-ho Bush style "team america" atmosphere. Was pleasantly surprised when he came across far from this. Could of course be PR spin, BUT he seemed to have an aire of "Nice guy" about him, utterly professional too.
As for the Michael Mann style flash-backs/recreations..... Somewhat OTT, but others may like them, and I guess it stopped it just being interviews.
Speaking of which, one of the seal-interviewees who was retired, should be more careful with his phrasing. The majority of the time, the way he talked theoretically BUT first person, he made it sound like HE PERSONALLY shot dead the most wanted man on earth.
Which opens up a whole lot of worry for his family, in terms of reprisals.
Over-all well worth a watch. Even the OH who deeply despises most things USA found it rather rivetting.

I watched it too and found it quite compelling. Obviousley the sound track had a lot to do with it, but i couldn't help thinking how much adrenoline must've been pumping through those guys when they found out who the target was.
I have a feeling this whole episode will (if it hasn't already) become a level in a forthcoming COD game...
