Did she play something from the new album & if so was it any good? Her first album was amazing, second one was tedious/depressing.

Ist album as you say, excellent.

Second took a bit longer to get in to but I now rate that the same.

Third album arrived in the post yesterday and I only played it a couple of times but already it's growing on me.

She played two tracks from her new album on Jools Hollands show last night.

I don't know much about her apart from the fact that she doesn't smile, looks like she could drop you dead at ten paces and would probably drive you to drink!

Apart from that, for a girl so young, she's brilliant thumbup.

It's a shame that Laura Marling seemed to arrive on the scene just at the same time as Lisa Hannigan's solo stuff was coming out. Hannigan has been unjustly overlooked, imho.

Have a listen to Hannigan - if you like Marling, I think you'll like it. Similar style (if a bit slower) with a much richer voice. Her second album is out on Monday.

The new album, A Creature I Don't Know, is very good. There's some decent stuff on YouTube of her at this years Cambridge Folk Festival. I know I'm getting old because I was shocked when I read she's only 21 - how some one that "young" can write songs like that I've no idea.
