Bond 23 - Skyfall

Apparently in order to provoke the right emotions, Peter Hunt unexpectedly locked George Lazenby in his trailer, pocketed the key and left him there most of the day. They filmed the final scene late afternoon, and the look on Lazenby's face is one of genuine tiredness, boredom and resentment.
No director would feel the need to do so with Connery, but I think the end result would be more along the lines of 'the bh is dead'.
I think any director that had done that to Connery might not have made any more films. No director would feel the need to do so with Connery, but I think the end result would be more along the lines of 'the bh is dead'.
I'm in two minds about OHMSS.
On the one hand, it's a pretty good film. Good plot, good baddies, great settings.
BUT... I can't agree on Lazenby. Sure he looks confused and bewildered in the scene someone mentioned earlier, but he looks like that for most of the film! I guess that's what an actor hopelessly out of his depth looks like.
The same person mentioned "Sure he fluffs a few lines" - How many takes do you think he ruined that they left fluffed lines IN the final cut?
Sorry, but Lazenby was a dud imo. Much worse than Moore or the Irish bloke.

I'm with you on this. Never understood what the thing is about Lazenby, I always thought he looked way out of his depth and didn't have the charisma required for the role. Not surprised he only made 1 TBH. On the one hand, it's a pretty good film. Good plot, good baddies, great settings.

That wasn't all on him.The most annoying thing for me about OHMSS was the fact they dubbed him for half of it.

Fat floats.I'm incredibly excited about this new film, loved the Craig efforts so far. QoS was far better upon second viewing than the first I found.
And whilst the thread is on the topic on Lazenby; I think its a shame that OHMSS was his film. I didn't mind him in it, but due to everyone remembering it as the 'odd one out' film because it was his only attempt, nobody tends to acknowledge the fact that its actually rather good. One of my favourites in fact.

Someone needs to tell Sam Mendes to keep it real.
Particularly where cars or skis or anything like that is concerned. The parcour sequence in Casino Royale was great - because it looked real. There wasn't anything like enough of the DBS just being driven hard. The car chase at the start of Q of S was just useless. It looked to be mostly CGI, and I sat through it thinking, you couldn't do that in any car, which for me at least annihilates the pleasure of watching it.
Why do people watch extreme skiing programmes or 100 Best Crashes? Because it is people out on the edge doing it for real. That is what they need to do.
Get a good road, close it, and set up plenty of cameras, then get the most competitive hairiest driver you can find doubling for Daniel Craig, hire that French bloke who took Chris Harris for a spin in the 997 GT3RS, he was a 24 carat nutter, pay him a pile to chase him in the said GT3RS with an extra 100k if he gets past him, tune the DBS or the One-77 up to make sure its faster and film the result. That would be worth watching. Even the in car shots of them trying to stay in control would be worth watching. It would be the best car chase ever filmed, yet it is the one strategy they never try. You might lose a few cars, but it would be the ultimate masterclass in cinematic motoring.
Alternatively get them to do it through Paris at 4am, Rendezvous style but more so. Film the cops trying to catch them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfYC_CBNtiM&fea...Far from it. I thought it was brilliant. Simply because you knew they didn't use CGI. It was all real driving edited together. (albeit writing off many Astons in the process)
And there's something deeply cool about a well used DBS

You do know it's not real...
When watching a film the makers do hope the audience will suspend a little disbelief at times. Not like the film fell apart as a result of a 159 keeping up with a DBS is it?
Also, it was an Autodelta 159. Maybe not as outright fast as a DBS but very quick in its own right. Also, it was on tight, traffic-filled roads. Having a load of extra horsepower doesn't necessarily help. When watching a film the makers do hope the audience will suspend a little disbelief at times. Everyone raves about Ronin, but I that's a bit of a duffer as a film (and not even a particularly good car chase to be honest)

My suggestion is far better. Film a real chase.

Nah thats boring! What you need is: Bond is in a secret hanger in the grand canon trying to assassinate the villain who has a large ww2 aeroplane collection. Bond get caught and in the resulting firefight the villain gets away in his private aircraft. After finshing off the last soilder not given up, he jumps in a spitfire (flown by ray hannah) which of course has bullits. Now film him flying a spit down the grand canon would be mint!
