How about the USG Ishimura. A planetcracker. Not one I would particularly want to travel aboard, it just looks cool.

isn't that the one with the bloke from Shaun of the Dead in it? A bit of a Red dwarf?

One I made myself -

I had the very same model, probably bought in the mid 70's. IIRC the back section could be removed to show the engines.

[nerd-mode]The one with the removable rear was the Aurora kit - Eric's photo is the Airfix one[/nerd-mode]

Yep - only vague "turbine type thingies" (I hate being forced to use technical terminology) on show in the Airfix version.

The website seems to have knobbled the pic, but if you paste the URL
 http://www.benprocter.com/picture/prometheus-ship.jpg?pictureId=15509967
into your browser then it seems to work. I did try posting a link here but that didn't work either.
Once you have visited the site, your embedded pic then seems to work. Probably to do with browser caching for something.

Anyway, the thing I don't like about the Prometheus is it is way too small to be an interstellar ship but just right for a landing craft. There should have been a mothership not unlike the one in Avatar as well.

Edit: Right, this is starting to annoy me now as the caching doesn't last for long and then it's a broken image link again. So I have rehosted it for you. No copyright infringement is intended and the URL to the creator's site is above so it is credited.

I agree. Nothing beats the penis-fighter. I mean the phalloship. The X-rated wing. hehe
