Bit of an oldie here!

What's the most American advert you can possibly think of? No, you're wrong. It's this 70s one for Chevrolet, which is currently having a renaissance on the radio in Florida for a local Chevy dealership

Thought it couldn't get any cheesier? Wrong! There was a Holden version made for Australia too biggrin

Oh, and South Africa wasn't left out either!

I somehow can't imagine it working so well in England, can you? "Bovril, Birmingham, Rainy Days and Vauxhall Cars" rofl

John Lewis. I think they churn them out because they're known to do a big Xmas advert each year now, but they're all much of a muchness IMO. Think Cadbury's with the Gorilla playing Phil Collins on the drums.... nothing Cadbury's did after that remotely matched, let alone top that. John Lewis to me is in the same boat.

I really love the new Rightmove one, with the senior guy, then the baby. Very clever I think.

Love this one.

It's because of this advert that my Step Dad is now called "Graaaham"

Of course my mum doesn't get it, which makes it even more apt.

Plenty of PH members moaning about the quality of Christmas adverts, but one which has been around for a few years now and bears up to the present repeats is the Guinness one showing scenes of Dublin as snow falls on Christmas Eve.

OK it's sentimental, a little bit twee, but it's very atmospheric and really meets public expectations of that Christmas Feeling. Fox in the snow, horse in its stable, man out walking his dog, statue of Molly Malone. Nice.

The Capital One ad in which the Christmas lights on the outside of the house go out leaving just Santa having a pee must be the best at the moment smile

A bit of optimism even if they can't spell aluminium.

They probably could if they were advertising aluminium, the British version of the metal product, but they’re advertising aluminum, correctly spelling it the American way.
It’s exactly the same stuff, but we spell it aluminium, they spell it aluminum, so both spellings are correct.
