The Twix left & right one with the two bears. I think it's a very good ad!

This and the Dairy Milk choc bar advert where the man gets fuel for his car have been 2 of my favourites for a while

I quite like the Uber ones with people boarding trains, reasonably humorous.

My boy sent me this one from Japan. Apparently it's an older ad that's being re-aired.

Sorry to be a bit late to the party but somebody must have previously mentioned the Cunard cruising ad on this thread but I couldn't find it.

Streets ahead of any other cruise company commercial IMHO. Alan Watts V.O. (although he died in 1973 I think) Simple proposition, beautifully executed. Not sure about the lead actor, excessive make-up perhaps, looks like he's been dug up.
Nuyorican. Glad to see I'm not alone in appreciation of Cunard. I guess the V.O. is a clever edit from one of Watts' motivational speeches.

That really is rather splendid. If Mr Benz was married, how did that allow him to name the brand Mercedes after the girl he was infatuated with, or was it Mr Daimler who had the hots for her?

The Mercedes-Benz name is a combination of two names: Mercedes Jellinek and Karl Benz. Originally, Mercedes-Benz was founded by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler and was part of Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, better known as DMG. The company was first known by the name Daimler-Benz, as an homage to the founders.

After Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler passed away, entrepreneur and racing enthusiast Emil Jellinek was brought on by chief engineer Wilhelm Maybach. Emil went on to help create the Mercedes 35hp in 1900. Jellinek named the new cars after his daughter, Mercédès Jellinek, whose Spanish name translated to “mercy.” The company later went on to have the “Mercedes” name trademarked 1902. While the company continued to trade as Daimler-Benz, the car line began to carry the Mercedes-Benz name.

One of the old Clear Score ads was on the other day, one with a couple on the sofa and her telling him to check out their website. I like the dog!

Obviously that'll need updating for modern times.
