silly plot if you actually think about it,:
probably but its actualy quite deep if you think about it.Its politics are obviously to the right (liberal, christian works out that the only way forward is smashing a blokes skull with a rock towards the end)unless you go with guns you are not going to change anything etc etc
I have always admired stalone as much much more than a brain out action guy.
The only thing he ever got wrong way Rambo 3 and pushing the american political stance at the time (afghans noble,Russians bds)

I've always liked him. I think Cop Land was his finest hour, but very few people have seen it (suprising considering it also starred De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta) and also Demolition Man. Seen him in interviews and he always comes across as intelligent and knowledgeable, a far cry from the stereotype that people have of him.I saw Rambo IV at cinema, amazing. I found it gory, upsetting, shocking, incredible etc. I've seen it again recently and the combination of feelings were still there. Sl different approach to the other Rambo films (we watched all of them recently) but no disappointment here because of that.
I didn't find Rambo 4 cheesey, it's very little like Rambo 3.
I also disagree with the SAS bloke, he's nothing like the ronin wannabe, which surprised me as the film went on, because it grated at the start, he;'s a rounded character who isn't the professional dick he comes across as at the start.

The only thing that ruined it was the Sean Bean Ronin character, I very much doubt a British SF guy would behave like that. A US guy on the other hand.
He old school sas total egomaniac. They still call me schoolboy no matter how many people I kill
Is it me or does it smell like a god damn wet dog this time of year
Try reading a paper instead of sleeping under it.
Can still sort of remember most of the dialogue after all these years. Must watch it again.
Oh and the blonde lady is still hot. She dropped off the radar after that.
Another wonderfully insightful critique from GRS

Its more the 'Brits get scared and panic until the heroic Yanks saves the day' element of it.I also disagree with the SAS bloke, he's nothing like the ronin wannabe, which surprised me as the film went on, because it grated at the start, he;'s a rounded character who isn't the professional dick he comes across as at the start.
