Craig Ferguson, the Scotish/American chatshow host, originally wrote Martin Clune's grumpy Doc Martin character.
And played the part of Confidence in the episode "Confidence and Paranoia" from the first series of Red Dwarf.

Kelly Brook's first TV appearance (I think) was as a student in a comedy sketch in Lee and Herring's Fist of Fun.

Jim Carrey was in the Dirty Harry film, The Dead Pool. Not many people know that.
FourWheelDrift obviously did though as he posted that little known fact over three months ago in this very thread.

Jeff Goldblum & Jim Carrey as furry aliens in 'Earth Girls are Easy' with Geena Davies, admittetly Goldblum had made 'The Fly' the year before, but Carrey made this a few months after playing a corpse in Deadpool and before playing 'Lounge Entertainer' in Pink Cadillac the year after.
Goldblum also had a fairly prominent role as a government official in the 1983 film "The Right Stuff".

Jeff Goldblum was in Death Wish as a gang member, 1974.
Lawrence Fishburne was I Death Wish 2 playing a similar part- forgot the year but he wasn't known then, maybe '81 or so.

Being a kid of a certain age (Footloose was teen movie) I can't have been the only 8 year old having the hots for Sarah Jessica Parker in Flight of the Navigator http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Ij_Z5Z9iI

Miami Vice had featured lots of actors before they were famous: Bruce Willis, Benicio Del Torro, Ving Rhames, David Strathairn...
